most layoffs were HR/Marketing because MS already had those in place and they did not need additional people doing the same. Almost all dev teams are intact

I read a twitter post from someone on the team for the new survival they had in plans, that everyone who was working on the project was completely fired.

I was able to find it.

Do you have a link or post saying this, or are you kinda just talking

Whenever you see media from the wow team it’s all blue hair pronoun fatties so it’s probably a net positive.

There’s a term for this and it’s more common than people think when a business grows and then all the great idea people leave and then they keep cutting costs like crazy to still make profits.

I read somewhere the employees they laid off were mostly accountants etc that Microsoft already has so it would make sense that they wouldn’t need people doing the same job.

Simple, the employees aren’t doing a good job. Usually with the case of mergers we see these large layoffs because of redundant roles. I suspect the bulk of these layoffs are due to that plus whoever was working on the survival game.

This is completely normal for merges.

I posted a screenshot of someone on the dev team for the new survival game, claiming that the project is cut.

Well like most media today, its all about ““tha message”” lol.

Get these PVE Blizzard employees out, more PVP devs please.

I hate it when people have pronouns.
I simply refuse to refer to people.

give me a hug lugo.

:face_holding_back_tears:
:hugs:
Swole is the only person I will refer to.

Lots of tech companies are enacting enormous rounds of layoffs right now, if anyone’s been paying attention, and it’s due to those workers being replaced by AI.

Before this announcement, Blizzard said that their WoW team would avoid using AI (at least for their art department). My guess is that Ibara stepped down because Microsoft is pushing AI and he didn’t want to take part in it.

They did. You have a stable game that’s updated regularly and has minimal bugs. That’s what the game devs do. If you are referring to the story, enounters, art design, micro transactions then that has nothing to do with the game devs.

At least in capitalism there’s a ladder from the bottom. In communism/socialism you have no ladder you either know someone in the pullet bureau or you don’t. Only the rich stay rich and the peons stay serfs and slaves. Just go look at the yuger (or however it’s spelled) Muslims in china that build your iPhones
