Microsoft Game Pass purchase of Blizzard products questions

I notice that Diablo IV prepurchase is available on both Blizzard and Microsoft Game Pass PC. How is this going to work going forward with not only Diablo, but also WoW? For example, I subscribe to Microsoft Game Pass PC for $10/month. Is the prepurchase of Diablo IV going to be the same from Blizzard and Microsoft. If I buy via Microsoft to play on Game Pass PC, will I also be able to play via Blizzard?

How will Blizzard credits apply towards Blizzard games on purchased on Microsoft Game Pass, or won’t they apply at all? Is there any publish guidelines on how this is all going to work?

Yes, D4 on Game Pass still uses the BNET launcher, so it will still be tied to your BNET account. It’s the same with Steam, except I have heard that you just have to have a BNET account there and don’t have to use the launcher.

However, D4 is currently included in your Game Pass sub, so I’m not sure why you would buy it in the first place.

I think what I posted above answers this question. Everything is still part of your BNET account.

Pretty sure they’re talking about the new expansion. I could be wrong.

They are. But since the base game is included in the sub, I still wouldn’t recommend buying the x-pack until we know if the DLC will also be included.

It appears they are taking pre-purchases now.

Yeah, on BNet. I don’t see it mentioned at all on the Game Pass listing.

Update: Wierd, I stand corrected. I see it listed in the Microsoft store with a discount for Game Pass…but still it doesn’t mention it in my actual game pass.

Well, I subscribe to Microsoft Game Pass PC for $10/month and I see it available for pre-purchase via Game Pass PC. I believe it may also be available on Xbox Game Pass, although I don’t currently own an Xbox and don’t subscribe to that, so not sure.

Either way, I think the point still stands. If you buy it through Microsoft (or Steam) it will still have to be added to your BNet, so it’ll be the same as if you bought it from Blizzard. So really, it doesn’t matter where you buy it from or if you buy it now or wait to see if they add it to Game Pass.

It’s not on PC gamepass for preorder, it’s only for console.

Sorry, been out pulling weeds. It’s called " Diablo® IV PC" om Microsoft. It says if you want to play it with a Xbox console on a PC you have to download and install the “Xbox app for Windows PC”. I believe that is the same Xbox app for WoW.

My real question is how are Blizzard credits, of which I have also $200 left, going to work towards Microsoft purchases of Blizzard games? Seems Microsoft would have been required to assume all Blizzard ‘debts’ when they bought Activision.

That’s only the base game and it comes with Gamepass, the expansion isn’t available to pre-order on PC, only on console.

Blizzard is still it’s own thing, just owned by Microsoft, they aren’t suddenly going to let you use credits you have with Blizzard on the Microsoft store lol.

So, if I go into my local grocery store and purchase one those Game Pass will it give me 60 days of gametime, Blizzard CS?

Maybe a CS blue will post a reply to this question.
