Born from exile and tempered with tenacity against the whispers of the Void, the Umbral
Advance emerges from the shadows a new vanguard of the Ren’dorei. Founded as a formal extension of Magister Umbric’s leadership, the Umbral Advance is not only a military order, but a haven for those who refuse to be defined by fear, who understand the Void not as corruption, but as potential. We move to protect our people, our truth, and our place in this ever-changing world.
No longer shall the Ren’dorei live in fear of the unknown. We are both warriors and scholars, seeking truth where others see danger and protecting that freedom to create a place where Ren’dorei can master their potential, exchange knowledge, and walk into the unknown with discipline, strength, and vision.

The Umbral Advance is a void elf exclusive military RP guild on Moon Guard Alliance. We don’t see a lot of love for our star-struck elves, so we’ve come about to try to change that and expand the void elf community. Our vision for the guild is to create a community inspired by the early developing infrastructure of the Ren’dorei and their place among the Alliance.
The Ren’dorei were a group of scholars and those outcast from Silvermoon for their experimentation with Void magic - a magic considered forbidden and dangerous within Thalassian society. After being banished by Grand Magister Rommath, Magister Umbric led these outcasts to continue their research in secrecy, bringing them to the shattered realm infused with Void energy known as Telogrus Rift.
There, they were all nearly consumed by the Void, barely saved by the swift intervention of Alleria Windrunner, who had mastered the Void herself. With her help, they learned to control its whispers and harness its power without succumbing to madness. Afterward, the group formally became the Ren’dorei, or “Children of the Void,” and pledged their loyalty to the Alliance, with Umbric serving as their leader and Alleria as their mentor.
The Umbral Advance serves as a start-up of a military force representing the Ren’dorei. We look to bring stability and structure to a slowly congregating people, support for those who seek to learn of the void, and unify our people in the name of discipline, defense, and the ascension of the Ren’dorei as a formidable ally to the Alliance.
Division Overview:
Diocese of the Silent Halo consists of our menders and spiritual guides of the Umbral Advance.
Bulwark of the Umbral Crown consists of our warriors, rangers, rogues and other non-magic military personnel.
Collective of the Dark Star consists of all locus researchers, battle-magi, and other practitioners of a variety of magics.
