Last time I checked Blizzard stance was Its up to the player to determine the raid race not Blizzard. I hope they keep this. Wow does not need any more Esports. Its ruining the game.
If Blizzard got their hands in this, it would stifle their ability to do interesting things, like the next raid tier.
Heck, people grunting about the race already made the "other side" bosses sound mandatory.
PLEASE do not design raids for esports. PLEASE.
Raid races are logistically impractical to support as an eSports idea. A race for charity, sure. Raids/Guilds are too easy to replace/move and you'll just get another issue where the top guilds are stacked. Everyone wants the money and that means going to the best team to win. "The rich get richer," so to speak.

On the eSports comment:
I'm not immersed in PVP enough to understand, luckily I can bug Dilly for his opinion on it. eSports means over-balancing, it removes uniqueness/RPG elements but offers fairness.

MDI didn't ruin Mythic+.
Mythic+ is the only replayable content that encompasses a huge number of players of varying skill. Simply put: It's the best endgame content for the largest number of players.
E sports is what i live for. I wish i could down vote you here!
who plays online games to slay npc's?
Online games are much more fun when competing against other thinking humans.
Every top game on twitch is a pvp game.
Warcraft is a huge pvp game and world of warcraft is based off of that.
Why do casuals play for ? why do casuals even post here? Your a casual, who cares what happens in the game, you log in do your pet battles and log out!

If you want Esports watch League of Legends (even though worlds just ended) or Overwatch.
WoW Esports is a complete joke, be it PvE or PvP.

The Truth! Honestly the return of unique abilities and other similar elements is one of the things i'm most excited for from classic. Sure some can be inconvinient but that's part of the charm in the long run.
You feel like you're living in a vast and varied world. Live version is fun but it feel more like you live in instances and rest is more filler once you're done leveling.
Why does a hand soap company want raid races?

What? Some people play games to relax? STOP THE PRESSES!!
Seriously, you sound like one of those annoying shooter-gen CoD kids. Do yourself (and the rest of us) a favor: go play one of the umpteen shooters or mobas that actually is designed entirely around pvp action.
I honestly thought competitive PVP Island Expeditions sounded like they'd be fun to watch. But their reception was rather depressing.
Small raids might work, but IDK if large ones would for a sport. I know Method had a lot of viewers when they did their world first, but you can't really put that on a stage.

If there is one thing that would make me say “nope, never again” to raiding entirely this would be it. Not everything needs to be an esport.

Let them have it, there won’t be a game for them left to play because there won’t be enough regular people subscribe.

Curious to know what you think would change with raid design if blizzard wanted to support the raid race scene more.

The largest number of players yes, but not a lot of classes. Most MDI groups had DK, mage(s), rogue(s), monk(s), DH. Maybe another hybrid healer tossed in. M+ needs tuning so all classes are viable, or rather classes need tuning so all M+ are viable no matter who's in the group. Some comps may finish faster than others, and that is dependent on class & skill -- but when you see the same 5-6 classes in all top M+ groups, the
only replayable endgame content is highly prohibitive.
And until Blizzard fixes that, players are going to have a foundation to complain about M+ and how MDI perpetuates the problem.
I would rather Blizzard use resources to implement things in game for 99.99% of the playerbase instead of something for .01% of the playerbase
They should probably be careful what they wish for. I have a feeling an official Blizzard raid race would be a major monkey paw kind of thing.

Dvis The largest number of players yes, but not a lot of classes.
MDI is not a reflection of the community. However, I do agree that some specs/classes are mechanically superior and it leads to imbalances at the high-end.
Blizz should reply back with the official middle finger.
