I havent been through this entire thread but check out a band called Kublai Khan if you like some real angry pvp metal
sabaton is also a good metal band.
I grew up on hair metal anything from maiden to Metallica to twisted sister
Started skating and went full punk from black flag to misfits to dead Kennedy’s
I have jumped to ska gone to just about all genres even to religious Gregorian chant
That being said my pick of the month I have been stuck on is
LEVIATHAN album from mastodon !
One great drummer and these guys jam
If you haven’t listened to mastodon and you like raw heavy music no flash no gimmicks I would give them a try 
Really like how they come in on megaladon

Another suggestion if you are Looking for a more garage band sound of metal a lot of old school Know the name but some people that are new never experienced these guys
