Metacritic is trash

I’ll also throw rottentomatoes in to your list.

Third person is not isometric though at least not in the way its come to be explained in the medium of gaming

only from those who have no links to the companies at all.
Lots of reviewers on YouTube get sent review codes by the companies

I just explained to you it had mod support from the very beginning.

Right now, OpenIV is still up, because Rockstar told Take Two to back off. meaning the Review bomb worked.

Modding is becoming more and more popular in games, to a point where even consoles is slowly getting mod support.

Whether you not want to acknowledge it and even if it’s optional, modding is a part of gaming. It keeps old games relevant.

And what if they just don’t care? then what? :man_shrugging:

Those 2 do not contradict

just because something worked doesnt mean its okay to do.

May be the case but its also a separate issue to the product being reviewed.

What if review bombing didnt work? Then what?

The games will just die and those might be some really nice games that needed a bit of tuning and work.

Look at Horizon Zero Dawn. If the pc port was the first port it would never make it to console with the review bombs. But since it was widely praised on ps4 people are giving it and the devs a chance.

The publishing arm of Rockstar has always had a weird relationship with modding. Way back in the dark ages, when they bought DMA (now Rockstar North), they originally didn’t want to support mods. This despite the fact they used community made mod tools to develop the London expansion for the first game.

So one of the devs over at DMA uploaded the map and sprite editor for GTA2, and hid a link to it in a random period on their website lol.

It still doesn’t take away from the fact that Take two tried to take down OpenIV and people had a problem with it. By explaining how the other avenues wouldn’t work, and you view review bombing as a dishonest act, then what should a customer do to voice their opinion to a corporation that rarely listens to people, especially with Take Two, unless their profits are affected, because then they will listen?

Are you trying implying that they do care by countering my initial question with this one? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I won’t pretend that review bombing 100% works all the time, like i said, it depends on the situation were looking at here. But how is getting a bunch of people to make a bunch of topics complaining about the same thing is more effective then review bombing? How is making a bunch of reddit posts more effective then review bombing? If review bombing ruined reviews for you, then for the sake of consistency, so would reddit, forum or email bombing if you will.

So i ask you this again.

You know that… how? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

If the PC port started first and then moved to consoles, i don’t think anybody would have an issue with that at all. It’s non issue at most. It happens all the time. Games first started on PC make their way to consoles eventually.

You silly people worried about reviews… I laugh at you!

Just buy games and let them pile up for 10+ years never playing them.
Game isn’t good or bad if it’s still wrapped in plastic.
It’s Schrodinger’s game!

2020 and some people can’t have opinion by themselves and make a decision for themselves.

I mean the current pc port.

Oh.
Speaking of Current PC port, out of curiosity, i checked out the reviews on that game and the game is mixed in terms of reviews, and the most helpful reviews that are negative that talks about crashes. Yea, that sort of thing sucks. I don’t know what happened there, because they had 4 years to port it over to the PC, which is more then enough time really. While i’m glad we still get a PC port of Horizon Zero Dawn, i just hope they fix it.

Not that i'm interested in the game myself, i just don't want Horizon Zero fans to be burnt. Kinda sad that this sort of thing will stick with people. First impressions matter.

One of the reviews said it’s the worst PC ports of all time. Looks like somebody hasn’t played Saint’s Row 2 on PC.

User reviews in most circumstances will average out to what the game roughly deserves. Review bombs only happen to dog tier games like TLoU2 or sports titles.

It’s a myth that games get bombed for being console exclusive. If that were the case then Bloodborne and God of War 2018 would have terrible scores but they’re two of the highest rated ps4 games by users.

Is it perfect? Hell no. But it beats the professional scores which are bought and paid for.
