They’re idiots… Anything from them should be tossed into the trash.
Amazon Delivery Driver simulator deserves its bad reviews, what an awful awful game…
Slightly off topic…I find rottentomatoes to be really bad…I never trust that website. Metracritic is just the same crap tbh.
Metacritic is bad because anyone can leave a review. You don’t need any sort of proof that you own the game or that you have even played it. Games get review bombed seconds after they come out.
This is especially bad in free to play games. Since anyone can play it on steam anyone can leave a bad review. Essentially killing early access games. Its horrible. Games that have a good base and need some work never get a chance.
This thread was a real eye opener! At least I can still trust yelp for fair and unbiased reviews!
Death Stranding is hot trash and Metacritic is a joke.
yep. Anything that can be mass bombed is not an effective tool.
I mean i dont like isometric games but I am not about to call it full trash when I see someone playing it just because I dont like the medium
Its a walking sim with product placement
It wasn’t a lack of mod support you silly goose, GTA had mod support since day 1.
OpenIV was part of the GTA as well other rockstar games that uses the RAGE engine like RDR2, and Max Payne 3 for example. It has been around for 10 years, 14 years now. Since GTA 4 first debut, so too did the modtool. Take Two was fine with it, Rockstar even promoted some of the mods made by OpenIV. The reason why their was a backlash is because it was sudden and TakeTwo’s reasons for it was incredibility stupid, since Online is lousy with Hackers anyways. Not only Take Two tried to take away one of PC’s greatest adventages (because mods improve the experience of any video game on PC) for GTA 4, 5 and MP3, but did it ATFER 10 years of being fine with it. Even after Online launched and such.
What would that accomplish exactly?
Yea, Glitches matter to a review. You don’t want to be playing a glitchy game. I know it’s normal now to expect a game to have tons of glitches on launch day and expect day 1 patches, but that is your first impression and you only get to make one.
At this point the only reviews i trust are youtubers actively playing the game as they review it. Metacritic, Kotaku, IGN etc. can rot.
I have no faith in video games journalism.
thank god for…
Jim Sterling whenever he doesn’t go on endless rants about capitalism.
Wait, i thought Death Stranding was thrid person?
He has gotten very whiny
Jim Sterling and Danny O’Dwyer and the only ones I trust.
Its close to unwatchable. I don’t always agree with him but i like him, he’s an interesting character, a good showman and great reviewer but holy crap he needs to drop the broken record about the evil corporations and whatnot.
sounds like a lack of support.
Just happened post launch.
And not part of the product being reviewed.
A low score based on this would be a lie.
it shows them a lot of people care and to reconsider.
this was my example of a deserved low review score
This would be a good rule…
But the gaming industry is NOTORIOUSLY in the pocket of almost every single “reviewer”. If its ign or some website they are almost always taking money from AAA dev companies.
I think YouTube reviews with actual gameplay and steam reviews are the best source of information personally.
