it seems like everything ele was good at has just been distributed to specs that have better proactive tools on top, eroding the value of those tools on ele where they have no backup
funny cuz they didn’t even need to take them away from ele to make having them in a vacuum worth less and less
I think Chris K had lasso in mind to distinguish ele when it was buffed to do hp damage. A 6s stun that drains 40% is incredibly…overloaded.
With what they had in mind for fulmination at SL start the intent is to have ele not be a builder/spender spec so the sustain is here to stay.
I just think the spec needs better spacing tools and something to set it apart like double purge on a small CD.
Whatever to make it appealing on a team aside from damage.
I thought they did away with %-based lasso damage because that’s when they implemented it in PvE via Conflict and Strife major.
Maybe they could make something baseline to free up an honor talent slot for unleash/static.
You can just purge ghost wolf. Its not like bear form its just a magic buff and any offensive dispel removes it.
Some people do use it, and will take the pvp talent that heals for 3(?)% hp while in gwolf but just purge it and no value. Not like youre gonna get value out of es afainst purges either though.

I think ele has had the lowest spec rep cuz its reliably one of the lower end casters in both pve and pvp. Thats not to say its reliably the worst but locks and mages reliably outshine ele so if you are looking for a caster to play, people are going to gravitate towards locks and mages.
Usually people pick up ele as alts… like blastabadar (talbadard alt) procpooper (venrukis alt) or dampener (jahmillis alt) but theyre usually levelling, gearing, queuing those after the other alts are set.
In PvE % based abilities just did the casters %hp to monsters. Lasso is usually tuned to be 5 channeled lightning bolts.
Ele had a stint in S2 bfa where it was the most busted I’ve seen in years with HP damage, full potency stormkeeper, and surge of power had a 2% chance to do vesper totem damage.
Didn’t last long and lasso lost 1s in duration and % dam

This is whole expac. Fury was just buffed and counters casters hard. It just happens fury was buffed in a burst meta.
Remove addons and lower burst and healing. Get gud

They used gladiatorlossa for it. Of course back then it was shamed
Not sure. I have only played since WoD. Addons are the number one issue with pvp. Burst is a by product
