I am also stuck on this point of the catch up campaign. I can’t see Merrix to turn in the quest Return to Dornogal and I also cannot fly in Dornogal. I am a returning player and trying to get set for Midnight. I am having fun but I’m concerned since my game worlds are still counting as instanced and I cannot interact with certain characters. Please let us know if you find a fix

Even after doing the workaround and finishing the recap I’m now running into issues accepting the other questchains needed to unlock Earthen. If I had to guess, the workaround for this will once again require advancing further into the full TWW campaign.
This feature seems to be broken on several levels and makes me question whether they tested it at all.

Blizzard relies on the players to test stuff…players who have already finished the War Within campaign on their characters, who are not affected by this bug. Sigh.

I was doing the recap quest and I got to a point where I was supposed to use a portal to Dornogal, but the portal didn’t exist. So, I activated the War Within quest chain via my Adventure Log, and I was able to progress through that to the point where I made it to the shores and got to Dornogal, but after turning in the recap quest I didn’t receive the item reward, and the quest disappeared. I currently cannot access level 4 delves. Is this normal? I have no started the Campaign quest, but it’s confusing and wants me to go through all 4 zones I think, apparently completing countless hours of quest (all low level with low level rewards because I’m level 80). I’ve gotten really deep into this quest chain now but it seems to be no end in sight. All I want to do is run delves with my friend. Certainly this isn’t how it’s supposed to work? Should the recap quest have allowed me to do level 4 delves? Any way to reactivate it? Is this a bug? Should I just wait for a patch? I just came back to WoW after not playing for years… My friend got me to come back but now I can’t participate in content with him.
P.S. I found this thread from Reddit. Seems to be a widespread issue. But it also seems everyone has different variations of the bugs… so maybe this bug is more serious than a simple fix?

Same bug for me.
I’m a new player. Did the DF campaign until 70, then the TWW recap. I’m lvl 80. Merrix is not inside the Foundation Hall. I found him somewhere else in Dornogal (near the entrance), but he doesn’t want to talk to me. He seems to be in the wrong phase.

Same problem as everyone else. I returned after a few years away from the game. This is a really stupid bug to have in the game and its made worse by the lack of any coherent response from Blizzard.

Same here, I even did the same thing twice because I quit the recap, but then I couldn’t go back where I was.
Also, I can’t see the portal from Ogrimar to Dornogal.
I’m a returning player, after a long while, and I was a bit excited to catch up, and this is the thing I found?
Got an update: walking around the plaza before the hall where Merrix is, I found another book (Like the book from the recap), and when i got close to it, the book teleported me in front of it, and I ended up stuck in the book

Bumping, same issue as everyone else. Tried a work around but wiped my progress so just doing the story line AGAIN the long way. Super unimpressed as a returning player…. and the lack of a genuine response from Blizzard is disappointing. Somehow things have gotten worse?
Spent all day to get to Merrix hand-in. What a waste of my time and money.

Still no Blizzard reply or ack’ on this issue? It also isn’t listed in their own official “list of known issues” post. It’s a completely game breaking experience for new players.
Just bought my friend a fresh copy of Midnight and subscription. He leveled a character to 80 and has now spent the past 2 days troubleshooting this “recap” quest system bug and isn’t even able to play the game properly. Can’t fly and is stuck in some busted quest limbo. Not a good experience for new comers.

Yep, experiencing the same issue. Tried solving with with some recommendations earlier in the thread to no avail. I’m apprehensive to try and level a different character if this will continue to be an issue which kind of sucks. Hoping there will be a blue reply soon.

good look for new/returning customers, just returned after almost 15 years and the game put my toon into an unplayable state due to this quest. i have no clue where to go or what to do now. i leveled a new toon it gave me this quest, i started the quest line, got stuck at this point and now i have no clue what im supposed to do…
contacted support for a refund no reply yet.
if i dont hear back from them soon ill just go through the long process of a charge back.
i would level another toon but im afraid the same thing will happen.

Just ran through with another toon. Same issue.
Also, not sure if anyone else has this issue… But, If I leave the Recap, and it ports me to SW, there isn’t a portal to Dornogal within the wizard tower.
So, I cant figure out how to get back to the Isles… Both toons.
