I got stuck there too on my druid, So i resubbed and preordered like 3 days ago thinking i’ll be able to just do the normal campaign the intended way before the expansion hits until this recap thing shoehorns itself on my screen, i figured i could just ignore it because i have no idea what it was but my intro to TWW stopped at Dalaran after repelling the attack quest, never got a quest to talk to Alleria afterwards even relogged to see if it popped and nothing so i figured the Recap was my next step, I suppose i chose wrong because i can’t finish the recap, I’m still confused at what was going on with the story and i feel annoyed by it. Gonna do it the “normal” intended way now on another character since i forgot the adventuring journal was a thing to start campaigns but that recap being available to returning players who never touched TWW is a pretty bad move.
Insane leaving this broken over a weekend. Not even added to Known Issue tracker. Please fix this.

As with others, When I get to Dornogal, Merrix is missing and cannot fly.
I tried the ‘abandon the quest’ and look for a scroll in the library, but there was no scroll.
I called up the book, they teleported me to Anduin, reaccepted the quest, flew back to Dornogal… Still MIA.
Kind of suprised how glitchy this whole thing has been.
This glitch right after the other one when trying to leave legion remix. What a *** game. I lost my money here.
New players cant even get to TWW

For anyone that was in the same boat as me and couldn’t progress the War Within intro questline to get to Dornogal and get Skyriding for that area, I figured out that after you meet Khadgar in the portal area below Dalaran that Moira (who is directly to the right of him tending to Magni) then gives the next quest to continue. If you’re already level 80 then the quest marker won’t appear above her head unless you have low level quest tracking on. This obviously isn’t a fix for the recap as a whole, but it allowed me to get to the Isle of Dorn, get Skyriding for the area, and now I’ll have a much easier time progressing than if I would’ve had to walk everywhere. And I’ll be able to do story questlines in the meantime until a fix is released for recap.
Yup. Left recap. Started it again. Abandoned: Shadowy Pursuits Questline. Did it again. Reload, Quit Game, checked for updates. Turned off addons, and did support ticket to unstuck. Nothing worked… Lvl 78 so seems the there are no workarounds currently, and awesome cause the weekend has just begun so we’re not getting any solutions lol

Does this only happen if you start the recap quest chain? I saw this post and have not started to make sure I don’t get stuck.
So i think i managed to find a workaround for this without restarting anything on my character. I used the 80 boost that came with the preorder, found that i couldn’t fly, talked to Brann Bronzebeard and did the leveling skip option and after running around not being able to fly yet, i saw a post online saying that if you logged out and logged back in Tranquil Strand the “Dangerous Sky” debuff should be gone and as soon as I did that with my boosted 80 I got the pathfinding achievement and the ability to fly again. Logged back into my druid and Merrix was right there and I was able to continue the recap.
IT WORKED!! What I did:
Left the The War within recap > Talked with Brann Bronzebeard at Dornogal > skipped the leveling missions > I cancelled the midnight preview quesline just in case > Check if the guy is sitting in that throne > Back to the war within recap > Used the unstuck support system because my character gets stuck > The guy is there and I complete the mission.

New player cant skip
For anyone wondering, i got my subscription instantly refunded when i asked for it which furthers my suspicion that all this customer interaction is handled by AI nowadays.
Well, good news and bad news, I found a way for returners, who had not played the expansion and used Catch Up to rush a character through only to get stuck without Merrix, to make him show up, unfortunately the method I found to do it was to take another alt, in my case a fresh Evoker and do the story properly like people did before the patch up until at least part way through the rebellion in spider land. It would appear that some of the quest lines were not being flagged and this quest checks that all the previous quest flags are properly set.
