Is there a way to do this since prepatch?

Still tryin to find a way to merge them… At least the option should exist.

Oh, is separate tabs for whispers the default now? I always do it on purpose because its easier to miss whispers if you let them sit in with Trade spam and everything else.
ESC (Game Menu) -> Interface -> Social
Either —
Set Chat Style to “Classic” instead of IM Style.
Set New Whispers to “In-Line” instead if New Tab

Exactly as you stated, however instead of Either -, I selected both “Classic” & “In-line” thank ya so much.
