I’ve been playing on Korgath for a looong time now and the population has consistently been dead for years now… why not just merge it already so that when Shadowlands comes we all have access to more players/guilds.
I love this idea it needs to be done asap
It might also be a good idea to merge all the RP realms into Moonguard and not moonguard so that people have a choice as to whether or not they should deal with goldshire on moonguard.
Realm Transfers are a revenue source for them so I wouldn’t hold my breath.
The Goblins in accounting have spoken.
Yeah, that’s the only reason they haven’t done it yet I bet… Sucks. But I’m not spending $25 a pop per character, and I don’t think many others will either. Transferring 1 or 2 characters from one populated server to another in order to join a friend’s guild or something is one thing… but when a server is so dead that players can’t even find a half-way decent guild… that’s a problem. There are sooo many servers and only about 7 of those (Korgath included) are “low population,” and they have been for a LONG time. Blizzard should show good faith for the health of the game and merge servers imo… not be out for a couple quick bucks. They’re one of the biggest gaming corporations out there…
I agree they should but will they? Stay tuned
They will have to absolutely merge more Realms in Shadowlands, it’s getting ridiculous.
With this EXP event going on, now is probably a good time to just go and make new toons on a populated, healthy realm and slowly ease into it.
Velen (really dead server) player here, I think that they would lose more money to people feeling like their server is dead and just quitting than they would gain by some people transferring.
Merging will never happen.
They may connect more servers together, but you’ll never see server merges.
Reason for this is simple. If you merge servers, you destroy communities. You might consider your server to be ‘dead’ but the others that call it home may not be willing to see it that way. Force a merge and you’ll break up guilds, destroy server economies and force players to lose their character names, the latter of which will encourage folks to abandon the game more than any other change Blizzard makes.
Here’s a better suggestion.
If you are sick and tired of your server being dead, transfer to another one. You don’t have to transfer all your characters in one go. You can start small, create a character on the realm you like the look of and see if that’s a good fit for you. If it is? Move a single character, maybe two or three if you’ve got the cash to burn.
That way you get the experience of being on a more populated realm, and no one risks losing their guilds or character names.
it really is very sad
wait 30 mins to kill a rare .
I did SPAM everywhere and nobody answered me.
And pay Blizz their blood money? I don’t think so
Those are your options, take it or leave it.
Either pay for a transfer, or stay on a realm you think is dead and hope Blizzard connects more realms together, because they won’t merge servers.
On another note though. Why are you still here playing this game? Judging by the words you just used, describing a charge for a transfer as ‘blood money’ it’s clear that you have no respect for the company, so why are you here giving them your time/money if you despise the company that much?
put your thickest armor on.
…all the people who think specific words are interchangeable, are about to grab their pitchforks and chastise you in an attempt to explain to you that connections and merges are the same thing.
I wish you luck with your crusade, but people are going to continue to butcher the language, and apply their own random meanings to words.
Do connected realms share the same auction house?
Yes. If your realm is connected, the AH is shared.
Having never played on a connected realm, I can’t really comment as to the experience. However, connected realms, in general, don’t seem to be doing well compared to actual realms. I’d seriously question if the entire connected realms thing hasn’t been a failure.
Yo, you don’t have to ‘respect’ a company to play their game. Heck, you don’t even have to like them, at all, it’s perfectly valid to despise a company while still enjoying their games - long as you’re okay being a teensy tiny bit of a hypocrite for supporting them.
WoW’s microtransactions are overpriced as hell, I don’t think calling them ‘blood money’ is really that bad. I can think of much worse things to call them… It’s just a good thing I don’t find myself ever having to use them.
Blizz is too proud to merge dead realms, since that’s that sign of a failing MMO. It should have been done ages ago though.
Yeah servers are dead cause people are unsubbing, its Saturday Night here in Australia nearly 10pm and since 8pm no body is on. (considering Covid19 has everyone locked inside too) You think it would be thriving been Saturday and the Weekend. But even queuing for a BGS its taking over 20 mins for Alliance. Once I could play all night long into the wee hours of the morning or even to 5am with plenty of people around not anymore.
