Pretty much this. The Classic Era PvP East was needlessly bisected into clusters of 5 and 8 while the PvP West was allowed to exist intact as a 10 realm cluster. Blizzard then opened (and still has them open) free transfers to the PvP West and PvE East. Players that want to be on a mega-cluster can roll/transfer to the West. This thread only serves as further proof that Blizzard lied when they said:

Do they still offer free transfers to Whitemane from other realms?
In that regard, it may actually be beneficial to some people to be able to choose to play on a lesser populated cluster with maybe more of a community feel, while having the ability to move to the large cluster if you want.
Of course, you canāt transfer both Horde and Alliance to the same server.

I know the community and the mods are thin-skinned, but I am baffled by this one. Do they not know that a āpackieā is short for a āPackage Storeā which is a euphemism for a liquor store in the Boston area? What was offensive about it?

They need to bring back character cloning to classic-era people want to play classic again, and as is stated classic-era needs a massive population boostā¦ we all want to play so Re-enable the character cloning service!

Blizzardās refusal to ever merge a server is so wild. It makes no sense.
They never seem to worry about how splintered the community is. Sad to see.
They will never merge these servers sadly.
Transfers are poison for realm communities. Their only legitimate use is for moving characters off realms slated for deletion. The soulless gdkp cancer thatās ravaging parts of Classic only benefit from transfers being open. Iām in favor of them being closed.

Youād also see boosting go out of control, the west coast cluster no lie there is more boosters in the lfg chat than people actually looking for group
they wouldnt need to combined any realms if they added RDF. Also just push us to the final phase of WoTLK and get us into Cata/MoP\Legion fast!
This seems to assume that random dungeons are the most (or only) popular content in the game, yet according to the recent poll, WotLK dungeons are some of the least popular content.
Also, of note is that this is a WoW Classic (Classic Era) thread, so WotLK discussion is irrelevant here.

1 pve 1 pvp wotlk - thru to cap it off at legion (the best xpac of them all).
Just lock them in at the last āstageā of progression and let people have fun playing what they enjoy on REAL blizzard realms, im sure there will be a ton of players homed and locked in to what the flavor of their wow life is.
As you can tell, Iād be locked in on Legion and actually orginal classic (I know 2 complete opposit games but I do enjoy both versions).

The HC community populated BB (which was NEVER connected to any other realms, after the split) SO vastly, that itās actually being sharded. IK this because, when I wanted to meet my husband in Darnassus, we were sharded from each other and had to āteleport to the same shardā to find each other. No, weāre not HC.

I completely disagree, there are tons of players who WANT low pop realms to level and play in peace and not be subjected to the constant fighting over resources, quest items, and rude people. Low pop servers, in my 18 year experience, has always fostered more friendly play styles and less fighting and cursing in places like trade chat.
Merging all the servers into a few FULL ones like they have done now, makes the game unplayable for a lot of the customer base.

Yes, you can. If for instance you have only Horde on one server, go HC, make an Ally toon, kill him off after a short play, free transfer him to your Horde server, now you can create Alliance toons there as well

Combine those servers into one Era server (1 each pve and pvp). First people to log in get to keep their names.
