Do you think it would be a good idea to merge all elves into one race? Then you pick the faction and character traits. EG More body types for elves that were the old individual races, could create mix of Blood Elves and Nightborne for example. Also finally have Blood Elf druids.

I love this idea and it would be GLORIOUS! Actually having a “Night Elf” man with a well proportioned body? Nightborne with good looking faces?! And if I ever actually got Blood Elf druids at this point I think I would cry lol.

I take no credit for the actual idea though. My post last Tuesday was deleted for commenters trolling in it and one commenter had this idea and was great.
They should do this with all the copy and paste races. It just looks ridiculous to have the same race multiple times on the character select screen, only with different customization options.
Every other game handles this with sub-races or simply makes it part of the customization options.
Blizzard: Look at this entirely new race, even though it looks 90% like the old one. Now, give us your money.

In a perfect world all the allied races that are just “_____ race but with an alternate look” would get bundled into some kind of subrace system. That way we could get more subraces without having to worry about faction parity or balance of racials - like Wildhammers or Fel Orcs.
To be fair, common requests for alliance races are familiar looking races. I would be confused too. 
Maybe merge the thalassian elves together, and the night type elves together, so we are back to two elves again.
But i dont think the night and thalassian should be lumped together. Theyre very different.
There were more than enough people who also wanted Vulpera, or Sethrak, or Arakkoa etc… If I remember correctly, the demand for those races was much higher than for something like Vrykul, which probably only a handful of people would want to play.
Besides, they should finally get rid of the outdated racial segregation concept anyway. Should have done that back in the Legion days. More freedom for everyone instead of forcing their players into a faction they might not even like. 
People actively campaigned to not get the Mechagon atrocities as a playable race.
But here we are.
Maybe Blizzard will fix those someday and let them go full robot like we actually asked for.

No, make a 3rd elf faction, that way you can take the current 4 types and put them in it, then you can also add more elf types to even it out.
