I’ve been going through some things lately and I dont feel playing as much. But I wish Blizz wouldn’t use that as reasoning to take away from designing content for people who are able and wanting to play challenging/engaging content. Just give me something light weight to play, like gambling or spectatorship or a mix of both.
That’s leads to depression right there.
The great thing about WoW is that you pretty much have the freedom to choose what you do. There are plenty of low intensity activities out there, but it does require you to take initiative.
Maybe your depression stems from not taking enough initiative.
Nah, that’s FFXIV.
WoW pigeonholes you into doing very specific things under the guise of “optional content”.
What was it called? Amusement park MMO?
If you want gambling and spectator/betting sportsmanship–there’s websites for that.
Whether they’re legal in your jurisdiction is a separate issue…but we don’t need gambling in WoW.
Too many video game companies are already being sued because parents let their kids steal their credit cards and make thousands of dollars worth of purchases.
We don’t need the same silliness to happen here.
If you want to gamble, play Diablo Immortal.
What…Makes you think they’re doing this purely because someone may be feeling mentally unwell?
There’s plenty of content in WoW that is absolutely zero pressure and relaxing.
That’s just a really strange thing to say, just in general.
I think there are plenty of those already in the game.
Try FFXIV OP. There’s a whole casino, people playing instruments in cities, single boss raids that you can queue into, etc.
It’s a lot of stuff you can do casually and solo.
Pet battles are fun, & addicting.
- solo old raids for stuff
- solo old dungeons for stuff
- battle pets
- RP
- world quests (current and past expansions)
- farm old reps
- unlock some covenant stuff from a covenant you picked (or maybe one you didnt)
they really truly are (if my list is any indication)
Then don’t.
Of course you have the option to choose what you do in WoW. Stop being silly.
Pretty much this.
There is a crazy amount of restrictions in this game. You have a favorite race and a favorite faction? Too bad, race division is still a thing. You have to play the other faction. You want to play a certain class? Too bad. Thanks to the imbalance you should play a different class. You have a favorite faction? Too bad, faction imbalance is still a thing. You want to quest together with your friend, who plays the other faction? Too bad, we don’t allow it. You want to continue the story? Too bad, you have to grind first. You want to do fun stuff like player housing? Too bad, we don’t have stuff like that.
The list goes on.^^
I mean realistically when it comes to factions and whatnot, there will always be an imbalance because players always want to join the more populated faction and where there is more player interaction. Personally factions at this point in the game are pretty meaningless and should be addressed as such. As far as the other things youve said no one is restricting you to what class you want to play. Youre choosing to play a different class. I also do agree that the story should be available without the need of grinding renown, etc. Player housing has been suggested for awhile, and I still dont understand why they havent implemented this idea. Building a guild hall/personal housing would be pretty cool. Hell, when you CE raids, get glad, or some high end achievement it should award you like a cool trophy or statute you could place in your guild hall or house. There has been a pretty large demand for an option like this, and I think it would please a large amount of casual and hardcore players alike.
They should remove the race/class barrier and the factoin barrier already. I’ll reroll night elf warlock immediatly
This weekend I popped a couple inky black potions and farmed legacy achievements and quests, had a relaxing and enjoyable time, it was nice.
That used to be THE beautiful thing about WoW. Was it’s psuedo-social nature. Where you might be feeling burnt out on pvp, maybe you don’t want to wreck your win streak. But you can still log in, play the game, and get stuff that will help you when you do eventually return to pvp.
Meanwhile MOBA’s have to rely on an ARAM mode to cope with ranked anxiety.
