Hello. I was watching a stream and this very high ranked mage was running memory of lucid dreams and he was saying it is very insane burst but when i asked him he wouldnt explain how it bursts.
I personally dont have it unlocked but in my user interface it says all it does is boost mana regen and has a chance to heal? does it get some type of big burst bonus at rank 3 or something?
thank you.
i always wondered why so many high rank players use it
Well thug pants it sucks that he didn’t explain it, but I’m here to help. The main reason you’d run it would be

Essences are different for healers and dps. It increases haste by a lot for dps. Some classes like fire mages do well with it.

Idk what it does for mages but for locks it increases soul shard generation. It’s a good major for destro though not many people play it over CnS, flames, or visions.
Demo doesn’t get too much of a benefit from the major, having it as a minor though is very good.
As destro basically for 20 seconds after I drop infernal and have immolates up on everything, I can spam chaos bolts because at the rate infernal and immolate are generating shards. I’m shard capped for 20 seconds.

this isn’t really how lucid works for any spec i’m aware of
that sounds like a bug. it acts on the cooldown of fire blast charges, letting the mage get much more uptime on the blaster master trait and spend more gcds on just instant pyroblasts, both huge boosts to combust burst

If he was running it as a major as fire mage, it increases your fireblast regen rate for 18 seconds (assuming rank 3)
During combustion, this means instead of about 3 critically striking pyroblasts, you can probably get around 5, so it’s a lot of extra damage. If you open combustion with fireball (tindered) you can get 1 extra also.
That partnered with the bracers and it’s endless, as far as I can assume.
