ya windows user here, keeps happening during random things could be a couple hours or 20 min of gameplay leans more on longer gameplay times. also adding watching my memory usage it goes from less then 5gb to max and crashes no gradual increase.
Never happened before even leaving the game on for 4 days straight when the pre patch came out, didn’t play for 5 days before yesterday (august 15) so whatever update they did in that time is what is causing this

As of the time of this post, I have seen the WoW.exe brick three different systems, all with no add-ons. So long as I avoid Valdrakken, it seems mostly fine, but the moment I have to do anything in Valdrakken, the game can chew through 32GB or more of system memory in very short order. In fact, as soon as I pop through the portal into Valdrakken I am seeing an 8GB spike in RAM usage that just keeps going, horrifyingly fast if I linger in Valdrakken, slower if I can get clear of the place quickly. Even so, once the spike happens, system memory usage keeps growing until – if I allow it – my system is bricked.
If I avoid Valdrakken altogether, I can manage a couple of hours before it starts to get bad. If I cannot avoid Valdrakken, it is just a matter of time before it is bad enough to require a full reboot to reclaim the memory or I risk my system being bricked.
Long story short: I am starting look over the fence at other MMOs (again). Blizzard needs to get its house in order and start QA-testing and optimizing this crap before they shove it onto the live servers.

Just want to add this is happening in classic client as well. Happening to 2 other guildies on linux (debian, zorin) and 1 guildie on windows. We are playing SoD

I have crashed in battlegrounds twice now, very annoying. Same error about memory usage.
Nah, happens even Cataclysm Blood Elf’s starting zone.
Interesting. I gonna try it when it starts to explode again.
Experiencing this since yesterday morning. Windows 10. MOP remix, Valdrakken, and pvp.

Having the same issue. Has happened mostly while Skyriding; area has been random each time. It’s also happened while in Exile’s Reach- no flying- and in old raids.
I turned off all but a few addons- DBM, OPie, and TRP3. Still have the problem.
Already had issues of being constantly disconnected if I so much as flew PAST Valdrakken, but now the game is stressing my entire computer with the memory leak.
I’m going back to GW2 until this is addressed, not worth risking my computer.
(Edit: yes, I followed the steps. I checked software updates, driver updates, disabled all but the necessary/low memory addons, checked updates for Windows 10, etc. Still had the game freezing, going unresponsive, and the process under task manager was devouring memory. I can afford to ignore WoW for a month, can’t afford a new computer.)
