Memory Bleed Crashing game

I have perfmonitor running to capture what is happening and wow is causing a memory bleed on my machine. I have 32 gb’s of ram and the game has crashed repeatedly after playing for a few hours. As I play the memory usage grows until about 23-24gb’s of ram usage and then it crashes. I have talked with a couple of players who thought their pc’s were the issue, one going as far as buying a new gpu and new ram. There is coding error in the game causing the bleed that needs to be addressed. I’ve seen this with adobe before, working in IT.

Have you tried the same test with the interface, WTF and cache folders Renamed . You can rename them by adding .BAK to each folder. You also want to disable any addon update software during the test. there are a lot of addons that are not good at memory management. Common offenders are logging addons, Damage meters, auction addons and gathering addons . FYI have no issue with wow using more memory

In addition to addons mentioned above, I’ve had this problem come up a number of times with DF patch updates. It just happened again, with 10.2 release. This doesn’t happen in any other game I play.

I revert to DX 11 legacy and it seems to fix the problem every time.

Go to In-Game Menu
Go to Options
Go to Graphics
Scroll down to Graphics API
Change to DirectX 11 Legacy
