were moonkin tanks!?

I think it was a thing in burning crusade, they have huge amounts of armor and for a little time it was possible for them to tank, I wonder was this ever possible in classic ?

I always found them fun to chill with in raids. Well if in my group forsure. But that 5th wipe on a boss they do /dance and my day is a little less annoyed. :hugs::hugs:

No snap aggro, massive single-target damage, but minimal AoE.

If you can figure out a way, more power to you, though.

There was one raid encounter in TBC where Moonkin tanking was a legitimate strategy: the High King Maulgar fight in Gruul’s Lair. Lots of guilds used an alternate strategy because they didn’t even have a Moonkin on their roster. That’s how rare Moonkins were back then. I got to tank in that fight with my guild and it was pretty fun.

For any other fight besides those in level-up dungeons, I don’t think it would work out too well.

As for PvP, we in the Moonkin community used to joke that Moonkin Form was the only PvP taunt in the game.

I think grulls was a purposly designed one off gymic, I remember one boss or add needed to be tanked by a warlock.

though I specifically remember having a boomkin tanking an heroic 5man and at some point a voidwalker doing it too, it was possibly towards the end of the expansion when gear was better

also unlike bear kins get to use barkskin as a defensive cd

Was a mage in Gruul’s (i was the spellsteal mage). We had a warlock tank on Leotheras (SL/SL) and on Illidan demon phase.

Panzerkin was a thing in TBC. Very well geared (T6) could tank heroics.
