So judging from alpha play and breakdown videos, blizzard is pretty dead set on destroying ranged further.
Why not just remove it from the game at this point?
Kiting is not a thing anymore, now they are adding no LoS to some melee so ranged isn’t breaking combat if a melee just wants to sit behind a pillar, multiple ranged classes have had defensives stripped or hard nerfed, then they add more damage to some of the most busted melee classes? Lol.
Yeah not sure about other classes but mage losing double blink is going to be brutal. I think the ability was really strong but we kind of needed it in pvp and stuff. If we don’t have double blink we either need make double blink ( but not shimmer so we can blink/cast) and deep freeze/stun or Melee mobility needs to be toned down.
BFA taught me one lesson. Stop playing casters. Alpha is looking like this is going to be a good lesson going into SL. Unless some MIRACLE happens like we get MoP locks back I won’t even touch a caster in SL.
Not sure if its the game or just me, but I am definitely not playing a ranged anymore in pvp, even though I actually like them in pve. In PVP its just way too annoying. Even if I am doing well, having to endlessly kite and pray I get help has taken its toll.
I am sure they are way more fun in organized groups, but I hate them in random BG’s as no one ever helps peel. Even when I get piled on as a melee, it just feels better lol.
Mages lost temporal shield, invis, double blink, mana shield was nerfed by 15%, frost has multiple slows nerfed on things like frigid winds frost bolt etc, arcane lost displacement.
Unending resolve already nerfed and pvp talent being removed for it.
Couple self heals removed from elemental and only one shield can be active at a time.
Barkskin time reduced
There are so many things going horrible with shadow priest that I won’t waste the time to post it. There is A LOT of posts about it so just search.
That doesn’t include the nerfs that ranged has received after this latest patch had dropped such as barriers being reduced, warlock armor/health, etc.
It also doesn’t include the mobility buffs, LoS issues, etc. that melee is getting which hits ranged hard through third party.
This is a big one though. Talented mages can make this a devastating ability. Having this AND temp shield along with 2 blocks, or block and cauterize etc. would make good mages ridiculously hard to kill.
Yea and look at one of the best comps in the game for pretty much the entirety of arena, RMP.
The mage isn’t what is making that combo busted. It’s the gross amount of control and uptime that comes from rogue and paladin which gives the mage or warlock actual time to do damage.
People seem to love to complain about greater pyro but don’t realize the only reason it got off was because they were chain cc’d for 14 seconds.
