Melee in WoW are poorly designed

Well I don’t see why a caster would complain about ret range. Sure we can keep doing decent damage after you make space, but we can’t interrupt, cc, or reflect anything if we aren’t within melee range with you.

Whenever I play a caster like shadow priest, ret feels like the least inconvenient melee to deal with.

Casters have far better tool kits that’s why the top of the ladder is heavily wizard populated.

General rule of mmorpg PvP. Bad melee player beats bad caster player
Good caster player beats good melee player.

Except the ladder data shows that ret and warr dominate almost every ladder and have the highest participation. Feral, warr, ww and hunter and the entire 2s bracket and hunter isn’t even a caster. Every bracket has arms as the top or near top tier spec. Why is this? Because melee are grossly overtuned and warr has every overtuned mechanic rolled into one.

The highest person on ladder rn is an SP though

I also felt the need to not really care how I use my yours on the forums. The only place me actually writing perfectly matters are in my classes or work I am free from academic literacy otherwise. ( also I main warrior you expected me to be smart?) :dracthyr_lulmao:

If ret wasnt ranged it would need considerable gap closers and tools such as undispelable freedom. You cant just nerf the spec uptime and call it a day so pick your poison

this is fried. Sp is terrible into cleaves unless you have an hpal or rdruid + a stunbot gigapeeling for u

multiple schools of casting + cog makes this the easiest xpac to play ranged dps

This post is pretty fried. Melee and ranged are both good and it’s not really that imbalanced. Ranged can kite and drag melee to bad spots and melee have tools to disrupt ranged when they connect while being in general more lethal with uptime.

Balance is really solid atm and there’s really NOT a huge discrepancy.

it’s a good thing dampening exists. non of this matters when u take into account people surviving for a while and then the instant 1 2 cc combo goes out and no1 can live anyways. just learn to land ur damage better when it Matters and non of these complaints r valid sorryy.

this part is super cooked. ur gonna suggest this and then start talking about homogenized classes lmao cmon.
ur just wanting casts so what, you can see what spells are going out easier ? you can run around a pillar and stop cast los them forever till cds are up? like what even is the goal here lol. why would i play a melee class that needs to cast. i’d just play a caster because it would immediately be at an advantage cus a further spell range( perfect exmaple for why this sucks is the class that i play lol aug is basically a “melee” like ret but has a charge up time on their damage xD) please stop complaining and just use the tools you have more appropriate, and accept that you can’t win every match. thank you :slight_smile:

Tough what a lot of you’be said is true. Rogue, feral and enh are way harder to play then hunter and evo.

Caster CC, snare should get nerfed and melee mobility also.

SP is pretty hard to play. I gave up on mine. Double melee in SS makes you want to throw your pc out the window. Especially Arms/DK/X. I have no idea how good SP’s make that crap work. In ss nobody ever peels. Your only real ally is your healer, and they can only do so much.

SS comp lobby has a major impact on many spec.

Lock and SP are doomed if they are in any competent melee lobby like getting double war is a PITA.

Also being a war in a double mage lobby or ret + WW is all doom.

I don’t see how blizzard can fix it without putting every spec in a vacuum, so sadly, you must take the lost.

It’s just sad when you get 2-3 poor lobby in a row and lose 100 rating.
