Okay so right off the bat i’ll admit I don’t play melee so please help me understand. How are melee jumping around while they;re froze in place on the ground.
Warriors jumping, DH leaping and rogues shadow stepping. Monks too. Anyway, any reason why all melee is ignoring so much ice on their feet ?
I figured if you have a block of ice on your feet, you wouldn’t be leaping and flying around.
Anyway.

Monks have Tiger’s Lust. We can also cast it on others, like Paladin Blessing of Freedom.
Warriors have Avatar.
Don’t know about DH.
Shadowstep is a teleport. AFAIK, you’re still rooted to the ground after the shadowstep.
Also, your roots break on incredibly insignificant damage, are you or your team mates continuing to attack a CC’d target?
Your ice is weak. Get better ice or hush

Everything Hirav posted plus:
Gnomes racial ability also breaks roots on a 1 min CD.
Trinket also clears them, but it is pretty rare to intentionally do that… offensive play, fat fingers, or a few beers could all cause trinket root removal.
Druid Shapeshifting, warrior bladestorm, and I’m pretty sure DH has something to remove snares but not certain. DKs can have two charges of deaths advance (not 100% if this removes roots but I think it does) and also have another CC immunity that I do know breaks them.

Vengeful Retreat. Mage freezes aren’t snares, but it does prevent a mage from slowing them.
Warm socks help with that

Ranged get more / better snares, melee get more snare breaks. Welcome to the arms race.
But if you’re having issues with melee as a frost mage, that’s a skill issue.
Because melee have to have 100% uptime AND everything else ranged have. They’ve even started making them more ranged by increasing their attack range and making stuff like ret paladin a ranged class.
we literally have wings why would ice affect us smh

Warriors can only innately break roots after using a deep talent cooldown that thematically means they either channel their anger and fervor for the fight to break free of and power through things holding them down (Avatar) or their weapons in such a way to remove the impairment and prevent others from landing while they are executing the technique (Bladestorm)
Rogues iirc can still use their TP style abilities, but they take the ice with them. Meaning they are still rooted afterwards. (Similar to what happens if you or your fellow mages blink while frozen).
All of the other melee, are using their own magical capabilities to remove the hinderances in ways thematic to their class (Paladins praying for a blessing, Druids and Shamana literally shape-changing out of it, Monks channeling their inner life essence, DH channeling demonic energies, etc)
Its like when you stun a mage or druid and they blink or shapeshift and somehow that removes the stun they really were hit with just a second before. Like the matrix you just have to believe that physical and even magical limitations dont exist. Masters of this natural order bending lifestyle are a remote sect of scalys from tebet that study an ancient matial art that loosly translates to Nullifying Shroud. This enables them to choose if they will be crowd controlled or not at will, seeming nearly always. I heard they developed the technique studying with monks who trained their bodies since childhood to be able to teliport while stunned.
