Melee attack over 30yards

I’ve noticed occasionally getting hit by a melee attack from over 30yards away, usually as CC breaks on the target.

For example it happened today while grinding BRD mobs in the first room solo, the mob broke from my freezing trap and hit me with what I’m presuming was a queued melee hit from over 30 yards away.

Unfortunately my geforce overlay wasn’t running so I have no video of it, I’ll include video evidence once I get it.

This is old news buddy. There are countless posts about it. It’s caused by spell batching. It would be more beneficial for you to bump one of the more popular posts about spell batching than to start a new, repetitive thread for one of the thousand individual bugs that spell batching causes.

Your refering to the threads that blizzard has ignored and are full of white noise?

Also I think it’s a bit more specific then “it’s spell batching”, if I was to guess it seems the cc isn’t completing the function of canceling the queued attacks.

It’s not. You guessed correctly, but that is an inherent side effect of spell batching in and of itself.

Yep. The same thing that is screwing you over is also screwing all classes. So Blizzard seems content to hand out -very- slow fixes for our problems. Probably because they don’t have a plan to do away with batching entirely (which they should).

Spell batching has broken the game. A lot of my friends have quit over it. It changes gameplay for the negative in so many different ways. There are newer, better games out there on the market that don’t use technology from 2004.

I suspect the “LEEWAY” mechanic is slightly bugged in Classic wow and even though they hypothetically copy / pasted numbers the results are different from actual vanilla video.

The best I could see in “Vanilla” was 7 to 8 yards max range; where in “Classic” I have seen some really odd stuff that I assure you I never encountered in actual Vanilla.

Spell batching could be contributing, but without being able to see their whole setup first hand it’s impossible to do anything but speculate.

as a tauren it’s actually a frequent thing to see white hits landing at 15-30 yards in a raid. as for pvp it all depends on how much leeway you can bug out on the swing timers. average distance is about 10-15 yards without movement speed. or size increases.

what is actually happening is the attack is getting batched and goes off before the batch of numbers you see, increasing the time or distance you are viewing as the contact point.

yes but the hit is 15 seconds after the target is trapped, and at almost maxed ranged distance. It’s a very instant buggy hit.

This was mostly notable in BRD, the mobs in there seem extra buggy and I get a lot of evade issues as well as target not in LoS when they clearly are ( Seems to be on room transitions? ).

Not saying there was no leeway or that it didn’t reach further than standard melee range; especially when paired with a Tauren hitbox.

I compare the maximum leeway range to a video from 2006 in that post. It looks nearly identical to me, despite the video from 2006 being in active combat which means it’s incredibly unlikely to be maximum leeway range.

That maybe the case with leeway, but regardless something in relation to cc / queued auto attacks is clearly bugged to allow an instant melee hit following a full cc to hit approximately 30yards away.

Bingo, and it could be a symptom of Leeway and batching being bugged.

So far the max range I have experienced is roughly 35 yards.
