This will happen. There is no world in which Blizzard will not make them 2 separate M+ dungeons.
Do you mean that the bosses should get more difficult as the dungeon progresses? This is more of a personal thing, everyone gauges difficulty differently, but I would say that this was relatively true for Dawn of the Infinite.
They will be for the first patch they’re available.
There will be one per expansion, as explained at Blizzcon. Probably coming at the halfway point, so 11.1.5.
Obsolete when raids/ m+ season starts . Highly Improbable to get in groups when its active gearing ground which is for a very short duration , improbable to make groups when its not .
Honestly, as much i agree with this, i think it would be better off being something else entirely given Blizzard makes any dungeon into a Mythic+ these days.
That and the community, particularly the M+ crowd, aren’t that patient.
I would like to see a mega dungeon ala Blackrock depths with some keys to progress via outside quests, treasures to get and difficulty that progresses the more you go though it. As well learn weaknesses and strengths and come prepared with certain classes on how to tackle it and etc. It would be a fresh breath of air, as well making it solo friendly somewhat (to a point of coarse).
And i’m not talking about Devles. Really i don’t think Delves are going to live up to this. Let alone Torghast.
That’s like saying “If you just want to go though the single-player game slowly and enjoy the experience that isn’t time trial mode, just suck on purpose”.
Actually, he’s describing the old school dungeons back in vanilla.
I had an idea once for something I was calling “Adventure Dungeons.”
These, in their base form, would be enormous dungeons, along the lines the original vanilla versions of Blackrock Depths and Blackrock Spire (upper+lower). The gist of it would be, you would go in with a party of five, but you’re not necessarily going there to full clear the whole thing. They would sort of be like instanced mega-zones for endgame “World Quest” content. Just as you have daily quests on the world map that change every day, or every week or twice a week, these Adventure Dungeons would have alternating daily/weekly quest content inside them, as well as other things like faction vendors/rep, repeatable reputation quests, rare spawns and rare boss spawns, questlines that started outside of the dungeon but led you inside.
Unlike more recent mega dungeons, which are as linear as all other dungeons, these ones could loop all over the place, have paths only open to certain races/classes/professions, quests to get keys to open shortcuts, etc, and you would go in usually with the expectation of just doing some of the possible activities, finishing some quests or fighting towards a rare weekly spawn for a possible rare drop, crafting items (like the black anvil in BRD or the cauldron for corruption potions in dragonflight), etc.
Because Blizzard hates to waste resources, the Adventure Dungeons would likely still be cut up into pieces for M+, however unlike the modern mega dungeons, which are just cleanly cut in half, the Adventure Dungeons would require slightly more work on Blizzard’s part, where they would set up impassable roadblocks or more set paths for the M+ versions of those dungeons specifically. In this way, they could use one dungeon to make two or even more M+ dungeons, but rather than just being “half of the mega dungeon,” each of these M+ variations would be specifically-modified versions of a single portion or path through that Adventure Dungeon.
I thought this would be about a megadungeon idea, not the idea to make megadungeons a thing that isn’t a dungeon. Ignoring the esport line that shows up everywhere, I see no reason not to add the wings to M+ later. The idea that M+ lacks a tactical approach to pulls is pretty funny. Adding an entire 8+ boss dungeon with scaleable content, a challenge mode, etc. every season seems like a bit much, I think 2 per expansion would be neat but if you have 3-4 per, it kinda stops feeling unique. As for putting the crawl in dungeon crawl, go run Dawn on Hard Mode, that place has got hands.
I’d like to have end game five man content that wasn’t just M+ honestly, if they built off the mega dungeon idea to give us like five man raid type dungeons to do that remained relevant I’d probably just do those. I loved doing dungeons in vanilla because it felt like an adventure, I miss that.
Loved what they did with Doti hardmode in S4, I don’t think it’s a bad idea to have some sort of diversity like it each season. If M+ can get 8 dungeons I think it’s fair to get one megadungeon outside of it. They do need tho to include it in the great vault if they do, Doti hard mode counted as a m0 for the great vault and you couldn’t drop items from it in the great vault.
I think speed running a dungeon can be fun, to a point at least but when the entire experience of any dungeon outside of maybe when it’s new is to go as fast as you can I lose interest. I think it’s fine for players who enjoy that to have content for it mind, I just would like to see slower paced content that is smaller scale I guess. Let the devs go crazy without it having to have a timer in mind down the line.
