Mechgnomes and your hatred

I do not know alliance lore very well. What is with all the hate with Mechagnomes? People complaining about diapers, limbs being weird, proportions, customization, etc. Why are they hated? I thought people wanted Mechagnomes, it was hyped up for awhile. I am confused.

People wanted the mechagnomes from Northrend.

Mechagnomes from Wotlk > Mechagnomes of BFA.

Also having half of your transmog locked into robot parts is dumb when they could have been made into race exclusive transmog options.

Its mostly people failing to really grasp the coolness of Mechagnomes. This art shows you just how cool they can be especially with a hunter that has a mechanical pet.

My only beef with them is that they didn’t join the horde, so I have to choose between having a decently sized pool of people to play with and being a cool little gnome.

Horde got a new race.

Alliance got gnomes with High Res assets stapled onto their arms.

assets that don’t even load properly 100% of the time, so every now and then you’ll just be a regular gnome with less transmog options.

I’m personally shocked the mechagnomes rejoined their kin after how they were treated in the alliance storyline. The Goblins and the Horde were much more respectful to them.

Never seen that (haven’t seen many mechagnomes so) they don’t load properly? Like there arms down show up? :face_with_monocle:

I think basicly it nails the problem, the mechagnomes are only cool as far as their gadgets go. If there is a cost, like not being able to tmog your legs, there should be an advantage coming from them.

Sorry I don’t know much lore - would be interesting to have gnomes on Horde

I can’t wait to unlock them to make a Monk Mechagnome. Definitely be an awesome looking combo! I hope they have some unique combat graphics!

Gnomes are ugly. Mechagnomes are uglier. They could’ve been a cooler race like Murlocs or Sethrekk or literally anything else.

What it essentially boils down to, Is any Horde races that get added get to the game are automatically on the faction with a ton of guilds, and raiders.
So most people that are long time horde players can race change with no problems.

Conversely any race that gets added to the Alliance is instantly crippled by being on the Alliance. Most people don’t want to transfer away from their friends and guild in order to play a new race that they enjoy.

This is honestly why Blizzard should’ve had the foresight to lessen the faction barrier before adding 10 races to the game.

Hmm. I wonder if some issues would be solved with opening up races to both factions like Pandas were…

Mech gnomes have all the transmog problems of a gnome (constant body clipping, oversized helm and shoulders and weapons) and more. You can’t wear a normal chest piece because youll have a disgusting diaper, so you’re forced into some type of robe. The arms and legs while being very cool can be a hinderence when you cant MOG them.

The head modifications constantly clip against so many helms.

Mechagnome just feel so unfinished to me.

No worries!
Basically Alliance side there was a Gnome trying to follow the legend of Mechagon in order to boost his own fame and fortune. So when he actually found Mechagon he wanted to use the people and their resistance to make himself more famous.
Horde side, Gaslowe followed the Gnome pretty much to get the jump on them and stuff and joined in to assist the Mechagnomes to help them fight their rebellion. Gaslowe was much more sympathetic to their people and wasn’t using them as a get rich and famous quick scheme.

I liked mechagnomes in theory, but I find the playable ones disappointing, mostly due to their transmog situation. I think I’ve seen only one mechagnome that looked unique and amazing. He had a full-on steampunk alchemist theme going on with a top hat, handlebar mustache, goggle eyes, and black robe. There are pics of him on the tmog Reddit.
