Mechagon rares

i have been running all over the map, those rares spawn timer is far too long . this patch is really boring and time consuming. whats fun about waiting there for rare to spawn ?is this what you guys called “fun”??

everybody claimed to love Timeless Island… here you have it again and now everyone hates it.

Well if they spawned frequently they wouldn’t be very rare, now would they?

Long timers combined with shards and hundreds of people flooding a shard at one time makes them more then rare. You have to camp a rare at a time and hope it stays alive long enough to get an attack in.

Problem is beyond farming the rares there’s nothing to do in Mechagon. No way to farm rep, only a couple of dailies to do … not that Najatar has that much more. Naja would be fine if there was a way to farm mana pearls and get the benthic gear but nope … can’t do that.

Seems like a lot of wasted time and energy creating two new zones just to set up a dungeon and a raid.

Ight and…? What’s that got to do with what I said?

Because TI rares actually let you have access to the loot table more than once a day. These ones don’t. Also, they only give rep on the first kill, which is a major pain. I’d be much happier if I could actually farm them for additional rewards more than once per day and also if I could get rep per kill instead of a one time event.

that is the problem, if there is other stuff to do on the zone beside waiting for rare to spawn…

It is too long. I was going all over the map on a jet pack and only saw one I needed in the whole 20 minutes. Turned out it was the locked vault rare that you lead to town and I wasn’t one of the five people to tag it. Total waste of time that was.

Nobody would care about the time of the respawns if it didn’t feel essential to kill them for rep. As it is now there’s no other way to get rep so it’s very problematic. I don’t see how it’s comparable to Timeless Isle or any other zone in the past when you weren’t dependent on rep to fly. It’s a timesink.

Rares no longer mean that they take a long time to respawn and haven’t for a long time it means they have rare and unique loot tables.

These guys are on a 60 min timer which makes them more rare then mop world bosses. Granted they are on the same timer as Tannan jungle rares but in that case there were 50 of them and you didn’t have multiple raid groups camping them and killing them instantly.

So unless you are lucky that 60 min respawn is more like 2 hours and if you get up to go to the bathroom its probably going to spawn then.

Whats worse though is that there is nothing else to do. You basically log in camp a spot with rarescanner then watch tv until it spawns and hope you are quick enough to switch back to wow.

Hardly the most riveting game play.

2 hours your rough estimate?

Again that’s hardly rare, especially with fixed locations.

Agreed. I was hopeful for 8.2 but so far I can’t say I’m impressed with the minimal amount of “content.” I did some rare farming before work this morning and had a “this is not fun” thought about every 5 min.

The jellyfish WQ and the Candycrush match game … I just can’t believe they put more “content” like this into the game.

This is an expac about a faction war … this should be epic but it feels so inanely laclustre and boring. There’s no “story” this expac. Everything is slow and disconnected. They throw in a lost island of gnomes … was this REALLY needed to progress the story (whatever the story is this expansion)?

They REALLY need to stop hyping up these patches. They continually fail to impress as this expac sinks further into the ground.

I cleared about half the Mechagon rares in an hour or so the other day.

Are they all up every day at random intervals, or is there a set rotation of rares a day?

I saw multiple ones of the same rare spawn while others did not show up at all.

i think developers should think of what "fun"means to us players, camping entire 30-60 min for a rare isn’t fun at all, especially for those players that doesn’t have alot of time playing WoW . if there is something to do on the zone while waiting for rares, then i wouldn’t cry about it.

If you need the 3/3 rares quest done I would just hang out by the fishing trainer on the west side of the island. There’s a quest there that involves putting bait in the water and spawning a named mob, which counts as a rare, and isn’t tied to a spawn timer. Spawning it once then waiting for someone else to spawn one was quicker than running around looking for rares (I found one up in like 45 min of jetpacking around the island)

LOL @ people calling today’s “rare” creatures as…“rare.”

I just think they need more health. They’re dying way too fast for only day 2. In 2019 with all this shard hopping and stuff, it’s a bit annoying.

Otherwise, I don’t care. I spent months farming Houlon. Camping a couple rares while watching Youtube isn’t a big deal.

huolon can be killed over and over i don’t mind that, but those rares can only be loot once a day and thats the issue. whats the point having long timer ??

It always makes me chuckle when they are ‘called out’, because I know by the time I get there…they will be dead. The love and sharing of a new patch, but no one wants to wait. I’ll call it, but it’ll be dead in 2 secs

I just check the spawn points, and get lucky eventually. Is usually how it goes until things die down.

I’m having a lot of fun out in Mechagon. :woman_shrugging: I fish, farm, and chat with people in /1 while waiting on rares. People are actually working together, helping each other, and calling out when rares with the longer spawn times are up so more people can get their daily kill. It’s refreshing to see actual teamwork in the community again. Different people are going to enjoy different aspects of the game. Personally, I find wanting to just run in, zerg everything, and expecting to get high rewards for very little work boring.
