Mechagon meta achieve stuck behind hard mode reclamation rig

Mechagon meta-achieve is currently locked behind issues with hard mode reclamation rig. A large majority of the time, the rig event is broken and stuck at a particular percent for several days. When it’s not bugged, it’s impossible to do hard mode two expansions later with players of the opposite faction (or even your own that don’t read) blasting the mobs to oblivion before you can use the supercollider on all 20 mobs with a 5 sec cooldown. I will invest my currency into the armory and rig and someone comes along halfway through and hard mode is nullified. Even if the zone seems dead, someone will inevitably appear. I imagine it will only get worse in the next expansion when the mobs can be killed even faster.

Please add another source for the “rustbolt requisitions” blueprint, as it only comes from hard mode. It’s the last blueprint I need and have made multiple attempts at getting it. Maybe just from regular reclamation rig (if it’s not bugged) or recycling repeatable. I have no problems with farming annoying things as long as I actually can have a feasible chance at them. The rest of the meta is attainable with RNG and time.

According to wowhead, the Triumph of Gnomer vinyl (also required for the meta) was also made 100% drop from the hard mode rig event, which I am also seeking, but it seems you can farm it from normal or a rare mob.

Ok, it is really really really hard to do now days. But I can give you a few hints.

  1. join the secret/achievement discord. There are many no-lifers.
  2. War mode on
  3. Late hours
  4. Get lucky

Good luck! I feel your pain, I will pray for you.

Events like this don’t age well.

Thanks! By some miracle, I managed to complete this recently. For weeks before and after this post it was always stuck, even when I got a chance to check it on reset days, but I finally found one that hadn’t been built yet. An opposite faction player came in partway through and started slashing things, but they might have kind of understood what was going on. I don’t even think I managed to convert all the elementals before the other player killed some, so maybe there was some leeway. Now I just have to go back and grind some materials to build items for the last part of the meta. I wasn’t going to bother until I ensured I could finish the rest haha.

Agree. Even though I managed to get it, I think it still needs to be changed because it is ridiculous to have an entire zone meta stuck behind a constantly bugged event and one that can be easily sabotaged by other players.

I too am having troubles with this one achievement. I’ve been out of wow since BOA and returned for my kids, thought I would pick up from where I left off, nothing seems to drop off this event now, I’ve used the shirt, I have enabled War mode, I’ve hit all the right mobs to with the collider, enable hard mode, killed the big guys and nothing but junk and loads of farming. Warcraft content is big enough that the 1000+ mob farms should not be needed, the wait time for mobs being farmed by multiple players should be addressed. I’m not sure I’m going to continue onto the new expansions but I think Bliz have bigger problems than addressing old content. Please let me know if there is a way to get these Meta items to drop. thanks

I have seen other reports in the bug report forums that it is not dropping loot. You can add your voice to the thread if you’d like.

If it helps, they did announce some nerfs to the blueprint achievement to only require 30 of the blueprints, so you most likely won’t need the one from the rig for the meta. This will occur in ~two weeks with the new patch on December 17th.

However, the Gnomeregan vinyl that has a 100% drop from hard mode rig has a much lower drop rate from Steel Singer Freza and may take quite awhile to loot. You could at least kill her daily in the meantime in the small chance it drops for you. If you have multiple alts to farm, that could possibly improve your chances.

I hope they fix this event, regardless, or at least give alternative methods of acquisition for its rewards. Good luck!

Making the rares respawn faster would definitely help in that regard, at level 80 they die too quickly now unless you were already camped out where they spawn and some have pretty lengthy respawns (30mins - hour) if they even spawn at all since they aren’t guaranteed to spawn every day (most do spawn every day).

Some of them have weird loot tables too, you are only eligable for the rare drops one your first kill of the day.

It’s a compounding annoyance.

One chance to loot an item that might not drop, on a mob that might not be up on given day.

Yeah I agree. Same for Nazjatar and other zones for rares with achievements or desirable drops, I think spawn rates could be improved. Thankfully this particular one wasn’t incredibly annoying to farm or camp and usually the rares in this zone take more than one hit to kill, but the drop rate is still pretty bad. I think I only ever encountered one other person waiting for it for the weeks I was farming, but I’m sure it’s gone up now that the meta was announced.

So the Rec Rig is still operational at the 9 December 2024. Trick is you need to wait until it is recognised in your 'All Objectives ’ list before you commence it to get the loot and achievement. Don’t contribute to the building of the Rig if it is not at the top of the All Objectives list, if you or someone else has contributed, your efforts will not be recognised and the event will not function as you intend.

WoD pretty clearly changed things up so that rares were meant to be lootable by everyone once per day so these outliers really need fixing. 30 sec respawn time maximum. That goes for world bosses too.

I’m stuck behind Gear Checker Cogstar and Crazed Trogg.

  • Cogstar spawns all over the map and is insta-killed as soon as he spawns, making this virtually impossible without insane luck with level 80 players crowding the zone.
  • Crazed Trogg dropping Spraybot Blueprints so rarely, and only have one chance per day, is ridiculous. I’ve been farming this guy since actual BfA and still missing Green and Blue.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, any system that can cause frustration via insanely bad RNG is just poorly designed.

I agree. I was a bit fortunate to have grinded out most of the Mechagon meta just before the BFA meta was announced, so for me, the worst ones I’m encountering so far are in Nazjatar.

Banescale “might” spawn after you kill another rare mob nearby, with a 30m-2hr spawn time. I’ve killed the that rare so many times, but no Banescale spawn yet.

The three scale matriarchs share ~2hr spawn timers, so only one comes up at any time. They have three separate spawn locations, but are in the vicinity of each other. I finally got one of them, then the same one came up a little less than two hours later instead of rotating (which apparently they can do, although inconsistently). I had never seen any of them up in my entire time playing in BFA. I even killed the related hydras nearby hoping that it helped spawn the rare I need, but everything on wowhead seems to be speculation.

If you are standing by the two near the perimeter, you won’t be able to see the third when it spawns, so you need to camp in a middle location. I luckily found a second matriarch a different day because I woke up at 5am, but I still need the third. I’ve already invested like 10+ hours into one extremely miniscule aspect of the meta due to camp times. I’ve tried war mode on and off. I would prefer to play the game instead of no-life camping for 10-12 hours.

I don’t mind the “check back every day till your thing is up” or “do three dailies a day for three months” aspects of metas. I don’t care if it takes awhile even if there is a bit of RNG like the puzzle performer, I can go when it’s convenient at some point during the duration of the day, check wowhead, not waste my time that day, etc. These outliers have me feeling like the rares with a 1 hour respawn are reasonable, when that is still too long!

If you have alts, you can camp them out at the spawn point and cycle through to get extra chances. The blueprint achieve is account wide.

Still bugged not loot 26/12/2024

sometimes you can get it by relogging just as it starts.

But yes, no objective tracker, no loot.

sorry if I MUST necro this May 2024 post, because I am TRYING to complete Mecha-Done, and not only is the vinyl drop from Steel Singer ABYSMAL for a non-mount item, the cost to start the rig event is 1000 spare parts and then the event is bugged.

Siren Isle is waiting for me. Life is meant to be enjoyed NOT camping DAYS because you folks are too indifferent to these bugs that get in the way between the achievements you put out and your players from attaining them. Or is this your way to make sure your base remains 99.99% pot committed.

Yea sorry I am PISSED.

This is practically impossible nowadays. All it takes is 1 person to kill the elementals before you can turn them and the whole event is wasted. I’ve been trying this for months now, multiple times a day, have never been able to get the hard mode even once. Doesn’t matter if the drop is now supposedly 100% if I cant even trigger it. Good Lord above please change this.
