Another 4 kills with no blueprint drop. The players around me didn’t get a drop either. I’m sick of waiting for hours on Rig Day after Rig Day only to not get rewarded with a drop. Blizzard, please look into this. As others have said, this is surely not the intended way to obtain Caustic’s blueprint. Otherwise, we would have seen complaints about it when Mechagon first released.

A friend I made while trying to get this blueprint messaged me stating that he received a response to a ticket he submitted regarding this issue. Per the rep this is something they are ‘investigating’. I really hope we get some kind of resolution to this soon.
This has been officially acknowledged by Blizzard. Don’t waste your time farming until it is fixed.

Yeah, my ticket also got a quick reply after 5 days and they sent me to the page above. Seems like they’re actively fixing it and it’ll be available within the next ten years!

This is my experience with the countless farm of Caustic Mechaslime for the [Blueprint: Utility Mechanoclaw]:
When I saw comments about the drop chance of this item set to nearly 25%, I thought it was affordable to go back to Mechagon to complete my final achievements in-between expansions (I played Mechagon during BfA, a lot, aswell), and as I was closer to the completion and this being my final task I grew eager in my seek.
Needless to say as I’m posting in this thread I have already countless kills on this NPC, which is a rare daily event which chance of happening is even more rare as shares chance with other events (way more than 100 kills if anyone wants to question statistics), and as I can see community around me, I’m not the only one suffering the very same burden.
The rest of the community that suffers this burden claims the ocurrence of this drop is bugged and I’d like to suppose its existance requesting a code check or clarifying the conditionals for it to happen like:
- Is it in the drop table only in once a day within the 1st kill? (as most rares?)
- Is there any conditional bracket in the code that could make it not elegible for players in other level brackets?
- Is there any code break?
- May this chance be broken for characters with name change or realm/faction transfers?
- Is support about old content being desisted despite reports?
An event that has a certain chance of happening as it has been stated, is an event that will happen at that certain rate, and having this event not happening in a large sample take is a valid bug report or at least needs revision.
And speaking from the heart, please, I’ve almost became obsessed about it and now it’s consuming time I could spend in current content, like many others suffering this very same burden. The need of clarification goes in the way of removing false expectations, and if it’s meant to be, to finally clarify the statistic and desist.
I know by now this is already late, but needed to take it out.

I’m hoping with the next patch, but who knows? Blizz should just mail us the BP haha.
One good thing that came out of this bug was it forced me to go back to Nazjatar to continue the crab mount grind I started in BfA. It’s actually going pretty well. All rares are down, and no bugs that I’ve come across yet.

Glad to get some official confirmation. I’ve been farming this thing for months and thought I was going crazy.
Let’s hope this next patch and the relatively extended maintenance period for it includes a fix for this issue.

Dropped for me today. Took 7 tries which jives with the % rate on wowead.
