Mechagnomes should have all classes

There’s nothing about Gnomes as a race that would keep them from being Paladins anymore than cows.

Make up a new order (like they did with all the races since vanilla) or make an existing order accept them. At this point it makes more sense to let any race be a Paladin than try to explain why the current set can be and the rest can’t.

If they wanted to get cute for Mechagnomes, they could build a machine out of dead Naaru parts they scavenged, but if they just let all races including Gnomes be Paladins, it wouldn’t really matter.

Only if a 5man team of mechagnomes can also combine to form Omechasupreme!

Mechagnomes express a specific interest in researching how paladins channel and wield the light if you ask them about mechanization. Given their nature, that should quickly lead into field testing.

It’s about the same amount of buildup that the Sunwalkers got, and they desperately need something to make them more than regular gnomes that have to wear diapers instead of pants.

Those two in the middle look a million times better than Diaper Gnomes.

Maybe they’ll add a quest chain where the Mechagnomes have to recover the pieces of the Naaru that Illidan destroys and then build a chest piece like Ironman to harness the light, thus letting them be Paladins.

And btw, cows are paladins because we stand taller…and are thus closer to the light.

(That’s the real reason why those hunched over Orcs have never been Paladins.)

Mechagnome paladins having a holy glowing Ironman power source in the middle of their chest would actually be great and I want this to be a real thing.

Actually… I like this idea. Like imagine, they are so technologically advanced they can replicate any magic/power set on a technology based way.

Druids are transformers with Lunar Powered Batteries.
Paladins are versatile warriors powered by Crystallized Light Cells
Shamans use varied power hand held batteries to create localized discharges, restore energy, create combustion, release cooling liquid, manifest holographic beasts and assemble sentient AI cores imbued with elemental powers.

I don’t see why any race that can have priests can’t have paladins.

Still doesn’t make sense to have a mechanically augmented race to be relegated to a few classes. I mean, there’s a lot more they could do and I’m confused why they won’t explore at least the option of all classes in the PTR.

I just wanted Paladins. I’ve been wanting to make a Gnome Paladin from day one. Very disappointed that I can’t and now the new Gnomes can’t be either. Bah!

If they aren’t a Hive mind, they aren’t Borg like. They’re just robots who can do everything.

M’uru allowed himself to be taken, it was a prophecy foretold by Velen that it would lead to the revival of the Sunwell and free the Blood Elves from their reliance on Arcane magic.

I’m amiss, what’s this have to do with Mechagnomes?

They need techno shamans.

I like the all of the graphic design options they have available for shamans and druids of a mechanical nature. I really hope this thread gains more traction and the devs are aware of it. Maybe they’ve thought about it, maybe not.

Does anyone have a technical, non-lore theory as to why giving Mechagnomes all classes wouldn’t make sense?

Making totem and druid forms would take effort.

Don’t they already have mechanical models, sans the aquatic travel form, of all druid forms? The totems yeah, I could see it being a bit challenging to reskin.

They should at least have different classes than regular gnomes.

I don’t think there is one; class combos are based on overall balance and what the devs feel would “fit” a race; our characters are already outliers, “champions” and “commanders” we aren’t a random example of a population, but design wise they feel there has to be a restriction between class and race. Indeed, some classes don’t make sense lore wise, but ultimately, lore is shaped in this game to fit its mechanics, not the other way around, and if they really want to give a class to an unlikely race, they can just do it.

Such as, how they gave Paladins to Tauren -as in, a complete new ideology to come well after the race was introduced- and Paladins to Blood Elves, Druids to Kul Tirans and Shaman to Draenei -choices that seem out of left field but built into their culture when introduced-

That’s a big issue IMO; it would really serve AR to have some different choices to make them stand out, and several AR have just less options than their parent races. Kul Tiran, Zandalari and Maghar are the only ones that are bringing something new in class combo with Shaman/Druid, Paladin and Priest respectively.
