I am very happy that Blizzard decided to go with mechagnomes. Most of the dissent about mechagnomes was either coming from salty Sethrak supporters or just people want to screw over the gnome fanbase. There has been a lot of gnome hate since the early days of wow and gnome fans have requested more content with BFA. They got that big time with mechagnomes and everything surrounding Mechagon. Vulpera fans often go on about furry hate, but thats absolutely nothing compared to the hate mechagnome fans have to deal with. The irony is that most vulpera fans I’ve met even seem to be on the side of the haters.

I will say I’m glad there weren’t more Sethrak. Their voices… I can’t explain it… there’s a physical effect that happens inside my ear canal for a lot of their voice acting.
It’s quite disgusting actually. Glad it was Mechagnomes too if that prevented the Sethrak.

My issue with them is they’re not THE Mechagnomes. Most folk were expecting we’d get the cool robots from Northrend and not diaper Gnomes.

It just feels like Blizzard hates Azeroth.
I want to see Gadetzan grow into a city, like it’s portrayed in Hearthstone, as a result of being an Azerite port from the wound.
I want to see the equivalent of Arlington cemetery built in Westfall post 4th war.
I want to see Mechagnomes and gnomes work together and rebuild mechagon into a city.
I want to see worgen reclaim gilneas.
Etc etc etc

I don’t mind them from a gameplay perspective. They have pretty awesome racials but…I can’t play something I don’t find visually appealing. Mogs look awkward on them since gloves, boots, and the arms don’t show up. They look like they are wearing diapers. It’s just hard to like them in general.
The only good mog I’ve seen for mechagnomes so far is their heritage armor and if I have to wait till almost max level to be able to stomach looking at one, I’m not gonna play them.

Ah, yes.
Diaper gnomes where the race is just assets slapped onto of the regular gnome model, introduced at the same time as one the “made up” allied race that had no basis in Azeroth prior, that somehow infested the Horde due to it’s extreme popularity - during a time faction imbalance was already extremely poor for the other side.
While one of the main complaints about the faction with the diaper gnomes is “too many humans”.
Truly, it’s just because people dislike gnomes and were salty about snakes.
Just that.

This would be a horrible idea when it comes to allied races. There are some races in this game that aren’t popular, but are indeed great additions to the game. Such as Dwarves, goblins and pandas. And just because something isn’t as popular doesn’t mean it shouldn’t happen. I love goblins I am very happy they are playable, but if they were put beside a poll next to other races, they probably wouldn’t be in.

Not really. Mechagnomes frequently come up in conversations regarding allied races and are regularly crapped on.

The ramping 40 Primary Stat is literally legit.
Debatably one of the best racials in the game.
If it weren’t for very strong and interesting racials, this character would not exist.

For sure, mechagnomes have some of the strongest racials I’ve ever seen. Ramping 40 primary stat and a 15% instant self heal when they drop below 20% hp is amazing. I whole heartedly think if it wasn’t for the asthetic problems I’d have more mechagnomes.
