I wonder if our technological spunkiness will feature into the alliance exploration of the lost dragon isles? After all not that long ago our Gnomergan cousins thought we were a lost civilization. We could help with the recording of these mysterious isles.

I really don’t see any reason we wouldn’t be involved. The Explorers League regularly features dwarves and gnomes, and I think the Dark Iron and even some Wildhammer have been seen since bfa and a bit before.

The diaper is nothing at all if you always wear a tabard. Or heritage. Basically gnomes look funky naked is all that ever meant.

Funky is perhaps not how I’d word it. We all have different bodies after all. But I agree with this sentiment. It’s only really a problem if you’re trying to make it one.

I am hopeful to see mechagnomes out and about in the Dragon Isles! It looks like the Explorers’ League will be leading the Alliance expedition into the new land, and the League traditionally has a few gnomish members. Based on early screenshots, it looks like the Dark Irons have joined their dwarven brethren in the League, so maybe the mechagnomes will join as well. With the potential for new titan lore and technology in Uldaman and the Dragon Isles, there could be opportunities for mechagnomes to bring their expertise!

I sure hope we get shown there. Be a bit of a waste I think. We’ve plenty of expertise in Titan constructs and advanced tech given our back stories.

I hope so too! I long for the day that I can leave this other dimension. Don’t get me wrong. The Venthyr can throw a good party from time to time but everyone is sooooo serious around here almost all the time. Somber is the word that best describes these “Shadowlands”. I’ll take Azeroth any day of the week!

Honestly I feel the same. While I’ve greatly enjoyed my time in Bastion and learning new ways to forge my drones being in the realm of death is just… Well its kinda a downer.

The Nightborne are the ones that become withered due to under feeding. The Thalassians become Wretched when they overindulge. Though that shouldn’t generally be an issue anymore due to the Sunwell being restored.

Precisely! All I meant was that their proportions are on the outer edge of humanoid, so naturally some people will think they are “ugly.” The diaper thing was a red herring, you can put most races in a diaper if you really try.

Mechagnomes are definitely in my personal top 5 though, and if they released more robotic gear or even just some new skins for the ones we have, I could see playing them for a very long time.

I’m a sucker for “technology” seen through a fantasy lens. They have that in spades.

Oh and do keep trying for the wheel, it’s mad worth it! Edged out Running Wild as my go-to ground mount even on this character. I have the mecha-dragon from the cash shop for mecha-flight but I wouldn’t mind getting that uber expensive technological flier that is sold from the representative (has two jet engine like things, name utterly escapes me haven’t looked in awhile I guess). I am saving up a lot of gold on this gathering character might be a good use of some serious funds.

Top of my list of “wants” is rusty-skinned heritage. So much of that zone’s mogs and mounts have the rusted look and I’d go all in on it but it kind of gets drowned out unless you go minimalist with a rusty character. Like, just a tabard and everything else bare. It works but it’s not what I’d call exciting.

I wonder if it’d be too much to expect more race-themed armor down the line? Mecha need it more than most, their heritage is a mecha-suit and obviously in a fantasy game there aren’t really ANY other choices if you want to rock that aesthetic. And if you’re a mechagnome, why wouldn’t you?

Since we’ve now crossed into new dimensions with these “Shadowlands” I wonder if I’ll be able to create a proper gateway directly into the twisting nether? I’d be keen to explore the legions Fel afterlife dimension.

It is early in the alpha, but it looks like there is already a new mechagnome NPC in the Dragon Isles: LOU-C Fitzcog! She is wearing the tabard of the Explorer's League. I have enjoyed my mechagnome so much since I made him and I started in a place of hating on mechagnomes. Learned my lesson.

He was my third level 60 in SLs and I regret nothing.

I truly hope that with the heritage weapons quests we got a taste of we start to see more like that as time goes on.

That heritage armor in rust and silver is amazing and we should be allowed to use it.

Hmm I know a few who might be interested in that. Though portals to the Twisting Nether are supposedly easy enough. Demons seem to reconstitute there (though faster if you use a Titans soul to empower it) so any part of it should work to find their “afterlife”.

It seems that we will soon have a span of a couple years to rest for once between world shattering calamities.

What projects do you all plan to work on during the few years between SLs and DF?

I think I’m going to begin seeing how to work Anima forging into some of my other designs and apply what I’ve learned to see if other cosmic powers can be worked in similar fashions. I’ve come to find that I can still call upon my steward companion while on Azeroth so I will rely on their copious knowledge and capabilities to assist me.

Greetings, mechagnomes and mecha-allies!

I have returned once again! It seems as if there’s some… great, immense power guiding my actions, which sends me on long hiatuses in a garrison on an alternate-timeline Draenor while its attentions are elsewhere. But never fear! The hand of fate has guided me back to action to defend Azeroth once again!

And, eh, I guess to post about how cool we mechagnomes are, here on the forums, as well.
