-be me with friend, normal dps queue taking half an hour
-switch to Veng, might as well dust off the cobwebs and see what these rascals on the forums are talking about
-enter first dungeon of the expansion (queue pops the second I click the Join as Party button)
-taking in the sights and sounds, pull first pack to let everyone get their bearings
-healer says “pull entire room” and continues to self pull entire rooms and every boss for the entire run
-mfw I have no clue what we just did but we didnt wipe and I had no time to read any of the bosses abilities besides standing out of flashing stuff
-visualize the Star Wars “It’s true… all of it” meme
I don’t wanna tank without my friends in a group in 2022.
yea the “go go go” mentality is the worst thing about dragon flight. I honestly wanna just start wasting peoples time. let them leave and eat a 30 minute. You know what would of been done in under 30 mins if you just let me tank how I want. Miss me with “You dont NEED to do it that way, or you can totally skip that pack ya know”. good I don’t give a damn if you can, I AM THE TANK, we go at MY speed. Normalize tanks controlling the runs again plz.
Welcome to the twitch generation! Go go go!
(Eyebrow starts to twitch)
Like if I was a new player I’d be so turned off and confused, most of us just sort of know what to expect. It absolutely crossed my mind that the EZ version is just letting him die over and over until it’s understood that we’re going at a normal pace… or you as the tank get kicked for not gigapulling and you sit in your timeout until you can instaqueue again.
ughhhh that means id need at least 2 ppl to control kick majority and they wouldn’t be able to kick, even as party lead. PL shouldn’t be able to be kicked.
Yeah like if you look and the 3 others are from the same server they’re probably a trio and will just control whatever they want so you have to game theory if you have the ability to slow it down and get kicked and timeout, or if you just suck it up and hope for the best.
I like fast dungeon
Yea it’s has gotten pretty asinine. You don’t even have time to take in the view of the dungeon anymore. I’ll load in and drop a soulwell for healthstones but no one wants them. They have already run off as I am summoning the soulwell.
I kind of miss how the early MMOs used to play with longer fights and slower pulling. Crowd control was used heavily in daily play as well.
This is my problem. I get that everyone is in such a hurry to complete the dungeons, but I don’t learn anything just bum rushing it. Sucks having to wait til we are wiping repeatedly to learn mechanics and what mobs are casting what.
liking to go fast isn’t the problem. It’s the fact people think you HAVE to play that way. Like everyones time is so valuable you cant be bothered to slow it down a bit. Like bro im trying to run a normal mode nokund offensive. Not a mythic+ calm the F down lol
I can appreciate that but we’re not running Plaguefall for the 75th time at the end of Shadowlands it’s day 4… actually really like day 2 for a lot of people since they fixed the server issues lol
Facts, it is literally stupid to rush through BRAND NEW CONTENT so quickly. Sure, i’ll give you plaugefall year 2, go for a speed run no problem, but c’mon not even outta the first week of dragonflight yet… ya know what MMO doesn’t have this issue? LOL
I healed a rogue who tanked through the ruby pools this afternoon lol. The tank was a beginner, and kind of lost. Thats fine I gave him some encouraging words to not give up.
They do unless the content is easy enough that dps can safely pull stuff.
Sir… This is not correct. We’re are literally talkign about how if a tank wants to slow down than the heals or a dps will full pull then get made at the tank for not being good enough. In the FIRST week. For a new player this environment is insanely unfun and ruins the magic of the game.
If people can safely pull more then they will do so.
Again you aren’t thinking about those who CANT safely pull and expect the tank to just “do their job”. nah player. whether I can or cant handle what you pulled, you tanking it player. If you die, you die.
That’s just it, though, in LFD content people don’t die.
I have old people eyes so I can’t see the chat. I just do the dungeon and then when we kill the last boss I have a macro that does /s thanks. Who’s arguing about what gets pulled in what order?
