Hm. Maybe. The mode has a lot of potential, but I could see it being meta gamed super hard and there being a lot of specs that just aren’t good either in general or at low-mid mmr.
Like, Mage is just a rough go outside of Frost randomly killing somebody trying to facetank it.
I’m curious to see how they do tuning both based on how something performs in shuffle and whether it’ll carry over outside of shuffle.

Yeah, I mean I’m going to literally be the god of solo cr shuffle so I don’t think you guys need to worry about what class is going to be good or not. I play every dps spec in the game except for outlaw/sub and I go 6/6 every shuffle. In fact, I have to hold back because I worry someone will leave after I punish them with massive destruction in last seasons gear. So yeah, all the specs are going to do just fine rookie.
MMO PvP should be balanced only around large battles. 10v10 40v40 etc…
The reason Arena was never balanced and we have dampening and tons of PvP modifiers is because it’s impossible to scale Class design around 2v2 or 3v3.
Classes are design for large battle and need to be balanced that way.
It should be impossible for some Classes/Spec to win a Duel and that is balanced.

I don’t know about that when the only 2 casters that shine in BGs are Affliction and Balance.

However PvP wise classes were alot more fun when the game wasnt “forced” balance around 3vs3.
Dueling for some reason was way more popular, classes had clear weakness and strengths, crazy amounts of self healing or have 5 defensive abilities to live forever, all your abilities did meaningful damage instead of only doing damage in your “gos”
That is due to poor class design and overloaded kits
no, its due to most melee having mortal strike, which stacks with dampening.
Dampening ramps up to over 50% at 3 min mark, add 25% ms and your at 75% reduced healing.
The only caster that has MS is lock pet 20% and sp psyfiend which gets killed.

Mages half azz class without a stun thats overly reliant on rogues to be somewhat relevant. Being a sheep bot, doing negative damage without combustion only to pop combustion for the opponent to become neigh unkillable through 1 of 4 defensive abilties at their disposal.
Afflic locks pruned with no soullink getting trained by brainless players that miss every kick only to be stopped by grounding, random 1 second stun, grip and other bs. Yeah so fun and interactive

Don’t think they can balance based on shuffle.
I mean, Fire Mages sucked in the tournament and it’s easy to see why…they rely on coordinated set ups to win.
But imagine they buffed mages because of this…they would absolutely dominate the normal ladder playing rogue/mage.
Or they could just reduce mages burst damage and give them meaningful damage outside of burst windows.
Give frost mages a 15-25 yd range version of the stun they have in dragonflight and makd frozen orb do real damage like it did in mop.
Give arcane mages improved Counter spell.
Some of these changes will lead to comps such as Mage/lock, Mage/ele, Mage/spriest, Mage/WW, Mage/War being viable again as they were in previous expansion (wrath, cata and mop).
Also it is a coincidence that these comps were alot more relevant mages had a stun, solid sustain damage and classes had less mobility?
