I honestly can’t even be bothered. Yesterday I did all the Flame Ward/Extinguish quests for the achievement (honestly thought I did these years ago), and Id see flagged people at the bonfires. And really all I thought about was, I just want to get this done. Didnt care at all. And most of the people I came across appeared to feel the same way. Except for Stranglethorn. Even close to 20 years later, Stranglethorn is Stranglethorn. Got killed by a DH at the horde bonfire in the north and an Evoker decided to kill me on the beach for the Cape bonfire. But outside those 2 incidents, literally no one gave a darn. Even capturing the flames of the cities I wasnt harassed. And luckily, being a hunter really helps with those quests between FD and Camo.
I’ve also fallen out of pvp over the years.
I used to be pretty into pvp, but it changed a lot after flying was introduced in BC and over the years I have too.
This is like how I used to be able to play MOBAs but now it’s just too much to keep track of
The age is catching up…
I’d be down for like GW2 WvW though
Yeah. Enjoyed the Vanilla WPvP. The Ashenvale/Hillsbrad hours long battles. Id never attack someone questing back then, but I admit to enjoying throwing a quick Hunter’s Matk on someone to spook them. But never attacked.
But even the 2 times I was attacked, I just stood there because it was quicker to die and run back and be about my day.
Spirestone, my main server used to be pvp. No one comes to Org without a fight. lol
If I dare to try to get anything in Stormwind there is always someone who will make me pay.
Good times.
WoW PVP is pretty meh compared to other games, I enjoyed it somewhat on and off until Shadowlands started and then I just didn’t care about it and now all I do PVP wise is the comp stomp whenever it’s up for the easy honor marks.
It’s weird when I think of at one time being that person that used to have world chat on so I could go defend places like The Crossroads, Hellfire Peninsula or Tarren Mill because now I’m like who cares.
I loved going with to defend Crossroads, we had some memorable battles. But when they did phasing if I came back with my main there was no guarantee the same people would be there. Really ruined it.
WoW needs PVP servers. Not warmode.
Totally valid, other day I tried to stop someone that was killing the quest givers on my main remix character because I was on one of my alts and when I phased it was in a different phase so I had to wait for someone else (Zandalari Death Knight) to come along and kill them it was pretty annoying because legit all we wanted was to turn in our dailies and move on and without phasing I could of taken care of the problem myself.
Even on PvP servers most people just avoided PvP
I was on arthas during wrath and unless I started fights, basically everyone just wanted to be friends
same…literally last night i was sitting in valdrakken and i went to que for a random bg…just, dont with it. I probably wont pvp again till the very end of the next xpansion…theyve turned it into a complete and total waste of time that does nothing but frustrate people. its surprising how hard it is to admit…but its time to focus on anything that isnt pvp related.
Nah , it has nothing to do with age, it has to do with not being good at games.
If you were the one killing them, you wouldn’t be here making a thread crying you got killed 2 times.
World pvp was popular for roughly 2 months in vanilla ( not classic) most people talking fondly of world pvp remember battles that never happened.
PvP is fun in casual BGs. Unless it’s mines, seething, Wintergrasp, or low gravity EoTS

Maybe it’s age, but I use to somewhat hate pvp. But now…I honestly love it. The older I get, the more I enjoy the luls.

Wasnt crying dude. Was just saying STV was always a bit different. Their “skill” was killing someone standing there who was just looking at the map for the next.
But go on and flex your e-peen by pointing out what was just a funny story and not the point of the post.
Oh and nice 1637 hk’s. Let me know when you catch up to my 19000
I’m going to guess you just never experienced a pvp server that was active. Spirestone wasn’t hardcore but I hardly ever got a free pass. It was usually battles all the time everywhere. I think red is dead was an appropriate term.
The magic of a 80% one faction server…
It may not be so much age as a heightened observation of the value of your perhaps more limited time, and a lower threshold of tolerance for “other people actively trying to stop me” exacerbating that.
I’ve absolutely gravitated to more “apply time and win” aspects in gaming. Need to know I’m progressing or at least not climbing a mountain to get to the RNG slot machine. If the slot machine is in arms reach without the mountain that’s far more tolerable.
I peaked in BFA and now its a struggle to maintain the same rating every new meta in arena. My wrists are worse and worse each year and my reaction time isnt improving. I started pvp at 14 and was clicking I started using binds in Mop.
