Maybe it was best that there wasn't a Warcraft Movie sequel

Two Orc/Thrall themed sequels? Hard pass.

I would like it only if they hired whoever did the Old Soldier cinematic to animate it.

Heck how about some war of the ancients?

Warcraft movie was a failure because they did not want to capitalize on the successful Warcraft 3 storyline.

I still think Warcraft would be a fantastic series on netflix/hbo. I don’t think a movie series is good for it because of how much there is to cover…

Hoping that someday it’ll happen!

Wow, it’s almost like Warcraft is based off Warcraft.

You do realize there was far more to Warcraft then Warcraft 2 and orc vs. humans?

You don’t say.

It’s almost like basing a movie on a storyline that was crowbarred into an existing narrative with time travel in an expansion everyone hated was a bad idea.

There are more varied and interesting directions it could go.

I would like an Arthas themed movie but I think GoT just did the snow-themed scourge/undead better than Warcraft ever could.

If they could get someone to write it in that same vein with demons and the legion, that would be unique and different enough to separate itself from comparisons.

Same thing as Orcs, but this time with Elves. Do you really want a movie just about Elves? Oh, and Tauren as well I guess so, Elves and Tauren.

Well the first movie would have been Arthus’ fall. Kind of like Starwars + GoT. If they did it well it could have surpassed both.

Dislike! Two Orc movies sounds AMAZING

Until they got to the end, anyway. The Big Bad slain in a single night’s battle by Arya the Night Elf, popping out of Shadowmeld to steal the kill.

Even the current writers could probably do better than that.

War of the Ancients wasn’t just about elves. Plus they could have had one of the most glorious orcs to ever exist in it.

I guess you would have been part of the $20 in ticket sales they would have made.

The problem with that is a focus on one race again. While the Warcraft movie had humans, it was primarily orc-focused and did very little to explain any of the supporting lore or backstory to help it appeal to a wider audience.

An Arthas trilogy would check all the boxes. It would start during the first (second?) War, introducing humans and orcs.

Then move on to the death of invincible, the advent of the scourge, and end with the culling of Stratholme, giving people a taste of demons and undead.

Second movie would focus on the events after the culling from WC3, introducing more races and lore characters like Illidan, Muradin, and Ner’Zhul. End it with Arthas donning the Helm of Domination and, in a post-credit scene, have the interior scene animated where he kills both his last vestiges of humanity as well as Ner’Zhul’s influence.

Third movie is the fall, the pre-patch scourge event, the DK’s liberation at Light’s Hope, the siege of ICC, the heart quest from Icecrown, the Wrathgate to set up Bolvar at the end.

It would be amazing.

We don’t acknowledge that last season. The second to last is a drunken blur where you can let yourself see some moments

Athas Trilogy. I want an entire Arthas Wars franchise.
