We could have a balanced game, Shamans have the highest skill cap with the least reward. I.E. 10x the work for 1/2 the payout.
What is the point of a Talent tree if only one version is the only way to do any real dps. You guy’s at blizzard give the illusion of choice, but in reality the disparaging difference is almost half the dps or less. If I want to play the game with any other talents then one specific meta then I lose almost 20k dps. The game is not that fun when you have to cookie cutter meta to play it.
How do Shamans have the highest skill cap? They’re fairly easy to play

lol I love the assumption that Candy Crush has anything to do with Blizzard.
The purchase of King had a lot more to do with dealing with taxes than funding blizzard. They didnt take money away from Blizzard development but you can stay in your world of something must be true because it feels good.
I can go a non-meta build and only lose about 1k or 2k DPS at the moment. Where are you getting 20k DPS loss from?

I think they are aware they went too far with class and spec “pruning” at this point. Since they came out and publicly said they are going to work on class complexity I am guessing the exit poll was logging a large amount of “boring” class comments.
Is there a class that isn’t easy to play?

No there is not. That said At the top levels of raiding and PvP its may seem difficult but that is more about team synergy and nothing to do with class design. Im more concerned about how boring classes feel to play than I am about difficulty. We need options to diversify playstyle. I get there will always be a meta spec but that is for people at the top 1% of PvE and PvP the entire other 99% would likely enjoy some spec options beyond the 3 standard cookie cutters for each class we have now.
I’m actually in the camp of “Playing shaman well has bad ROI”
They need to dump the totems IMO on at least elemental. They’re really bad. You would think that the benefit of external buffs would at least be their survival after we die, but they die with us, so all the buffs really are is a crap version of other people’s options that go out of range.
I would actually prefer if elemental had to choose one of the elements as a pet that altered one of our abilities and couldn’t be changed in combat.

In the early days totems were much stronger than other class buffs so the static nature was a trade off… some how the Shaman totem buffs were normalized but the penalty of static radius effects stayed…

I remember them being insane in Vanilla because a buddy of mine played one, but I feel like they never really put time into fixing the Shaman properly. It has a real, “Don’t acknowledge it and hope it goes away feel.” I’m here solely to be a lightning wizard.
I agree. Shaman never worked as intended and rather then going in deep to revamp the class to their vision its just been patch worked to death with a lot of aspects over looked.
