Every time I do Opulence in LFR someone runs down to the bosses room while we’re all nearly done with the guardians fight, which resets everything. They either don’t know the fight or, worse yet and why we need the gate, they’re trolling the raid. Blizz, you can always take out the gate next expansion to make the thing soloable. But for now, in LFR, maybe we need something to keep people out of the main room when we’re fighting the guardians?

I was confused as to what you meant, for a few moments.
I haven’t had it happen to me personally, but yeah; a preventive measure to prevent griefing would be nice.

best way to prevent being griefed in lfr is to not do lfr.

Ah, a bit of softcore victim blaming I see. The person being a jerk shouldn’t stop being a jerk? Really?
Some of us only have LFR.
Not because we’re “bad”, but because of reasons caused by aging.
I was able to do the last wing WITHOUT DBM ON and didn’t die once; I even picked up on what I needed to do near-instantly without ever looking at a guide.

Uh…I’m not gonna lie, I think you jumped the gun here. Advising someone to not do LFR and seek something more organized isn’t age shaming, nor does he know your personal situation, or anything of the sort. It’s sound advice. Normal mode raiding with a guild will always be more advantageous than LFR.
To throw around “softcore victim blaming” when someone was using a bit of snark (that I view as playful when I read it) to convey an actual point is a bit out there.

Are you trying to tell the LFR player how to play the game? Shame on you, you dont pay for their sub. Its tourism mode anyways, let them have their tour of the boss.

OP, while I haven’t seen this type of griefing, even if I did, there is such a neat little option called votekick…use it wisely and often to keep AFK/abusive chat/griefers from turning what should be a 45-minute wing into a 6-hour marathon and keep your blood pressure down.
Intentionally resetting the fight repeatedly cos he’s trying to piss everyone off? Votekick. AFK or non-participating player causing repeated wipes and mounting frustration? Votekick. Player being abusive in chat instead of shutting up and killing the mobs and/or boss? Votekick!
Inb4 “But you need 4-5 players to initiate a votekick”…I doubt a ton of folks are going to put up with abusive chat or griefing or non-participation for very long. It is extremely rare that a player who is the cause of at least 2 wipes or who is repeatedly being abusive in LFR is allowed to stay in that LFR group without a votekick.
You can’t votekick before they’ve done it, and each time no one has known who it was. So, yeah.
You don’t only have LFR … pugs are blasting through normal because its basically lfr 2.0 .
It’s easy not to die in lfr because 90% of the mechanics do nothing.

When I occasionally do LFR or maybe even pug a raid and we have a couple of wipes to an obvious mechanic I try to pay double attention to who caused. If the raid leader doesn’t seem to notice or maybe care then it’s time to leave.
If this was a common thing I would be watching that doorway to the boss until the last two seconds on a timer like a hawk.
It’s been about 50/50 for me.
About half the time it ends up getting reset. Either we’ll be running into the last room with the boss and it’ll reset, or I’ve had it happen twice now we’ll be on the golem in the chamber before the last where it dies and it resets.
Frustrating.
Sounds like progressing on a boss in LFR just means weeding out the trolls … while in Normal/Heroic/Mythic it is learning mechanics mostly. Seems fair.

What you do is kick any player that didn’t go left or right.
Blizz could add something simple like fill the room with fire which pierces immunities and deals enough damage to instantly kill anyone trying to run through it. In future expansions we’ll have have the legacy buff reducing damage taken, so it would be survivable when we solo it in the future.
