Professions need to be reverted to their pre-garbage state. Nobody asked for them to be whatever this nonsense we have now is, and hardly anyone has anything positive to say about it.

not because it would kill the bots, most players here donât have the capacity for simple puzzles or laborious processes - just look at how many people are STILL complaining about dragonriding
This has been explained time and time again why it was added to the game. If you want it removed from the game, you are either advocating for professions to be made pointless once more and effectively remove them from the game⌠or you are advocating for a mass introduction of lots of minor and rather annoying to gather one-ofâs reagents instead.
Ranks simplify this whilst making it feasible to specialize oneâs own character without it affecting a playerâs power. It simply indicates how good you are at your profession.
All this says is that âI was happy that I didnât have professions past day 1 of an expansion.â
You liked ticking off a box, not for your character to be whatever profession it is you picked up.
Professions are an actual activity that one can engage with since DF reworked professions since effectively all of WoWâs history. Prior to Shadowlands, professions only ever existed to provide you with enchantments, flasks, or the rare exception of profession specific âenchants.â Which all went away because if they were that good, folks swapped out their professions to obtain more power not because they wanted said profession.
DF and TWW has the best system that professions have ever been in to this day, and yes - it requires, as it is currently set up, to have multiple ranks of materials and the end-result crafted items. Which is why we got said 32+ sized Reagent bags to deal with it.
- Professions arenât garbage now, but they used to be absolutely garbage and was a huge reason why no one bothered with them. Folks got their professions to max and then forgot that they had them for the rest of the expansion.
- Folks had been asking for updates to the profession systems for decades and, if we take into account how Blizzard used professions to solve another issue regarding deterministic gear, non-player power related progression, and making players have meaningful choices that they could make in regards to their charactersâŚ
Folks had been asking for something that could do all of those things explicitly since late WoD/mid-Legion all the way up to the end of Shadowlands. - You not encountering folks who speak positively about it just shows that you live within your own echo chamber. The updated professions are HUGELY popular and extremely well-liked by folks who actually play the game. As DF and TWW has demonstrated to no end.
Iâd guess most people didnât bother because of hyperfixation on BiS epics instead of looking at the bigger picture. How often did people complain that Inscription was completely useless and there was nothing to craft with this profession? All the while Glyphs were selling like hot cake and with a big profit margin (which is now sadly over because of region wide AH).
In my opinion professions were fine, but that was probably because I used the whole profession book and not just looked for quick gear.
I actually like the new profession system, even if I hate the new concentration system, DF did it better imo. But just because everybody basically has to use it for proper gear progression doesnât mean itâs popular and beloved. Thatâs like saying that the legendary crafting system in SL was a huge success because everybody ran Torghast and crafted or bought this stuff. There are tons of people who donât like it, find it too complicated and intransparent or straightup quit crafting altogether. The reception is quite mixed on this topic.

Okay, but if the mini game was simple enough, like, say, the web puzzles in Azj-Kahet Delves, which are trained monkey levels of easy to do but would probably be impossible for a bot.
I gather my own mats and I would be eternally grateful if that process was fun instead of⌠Whatever this is. Itâs not even gameplay. You just click on something and try not to get blown up.

All I would ask is that crafters be able to create a legendary as the could in Legion. The current items are a little dull.
They need to just ban bots. They know who the bots are. They get reported 20x a day.
Ff14 has fun mini games with crafting, unless youâre a brainless imbecile.
