Meh, maybe for SOM.
I’m pretty sure if you go to retail and travel to BC or WotLK zones, they will look mostly the same. The character models might be different, but the armor, weapons, and environment are mostly the same.
Not downloading retail to find out though.

woltk maps/textures arent that bad as vanilla/bc pretty sure game will be ok with updated models, not sure why so many people wants to play in awfulness.
Also many private servers got updated models in WOLTK and the game looks just fine
I really wouldn’t care if it was a toggle for players to pick, but I have no idea how easy or difficult it is for them to maintain or worry about.
The new graphics came with new rigs so old animations may not be designed to handle them properly either.
All I’m saying that I dont think applying retail graphics will do anything, since the only thing that will be different are the character models. They would have to redesign all of the wotlk models, armors, and weapons.
I’m not saying I’m against the idea. Just saying I dont know what would actually change.
almost every spell right now exist in retail, or has a retail animation tied to it, so pretty sure that wont be a problem
You could enjoy some really annoying run animations.
Some of them were good, a lot of them I actively disliked. Was never a reason to quit over, but I remember really disliking humans and trolls.
Maybe. Probably. But also I don’t really know what I’m talking about as how difficult it is to port over. It sounds easy enough, but I really have no idea what issues they’d run into.
But either way if they wanted a client side toggle people could just to use or ignore I don’t really have a problem with it.
no need, woltk textures and model arent that bad, thats my point, they just need to update player models thats all, just do a woltk mog and run icc you will find that the disparity its not that bad

updated models always comes with toggle as it did in retail, if a pleatora of ppl want to just look at awfulness sure, but force everyone to look that bad? ,jesus christ it was a nightmare in vanilla
They removed the toggle the next expansion. If the toggle remained that would probably be ok.

prob cuse NO ONE EVER wanted to play with old models why would you theyre GOD DANM HORRIBLE, but the option was implemented so it alrdy exist, they dont have to create a toggle for it

Oh plenty of people lost their poop on the forums when it was removed. Granted, they either got over it or quit playing over it, but people noticed.
Yeah, they haven’t done anything to the environments of the “old worlds” on retail. So other than overall game engine and new races it would be exactly the same.
