Max mailbox limits

Did not find an answer researching so was wondering if anyone has heard anything or has experience with how many items you can mail to an alt such as for crafting, milling, etc. Has anyone mailed over 10,000 items without issue?

The quantity of items doesn’t really matter as much as the number of separate stacks: 1 stack= 1 inv slot = 1 attachment on a mail. Even if you had a private guild bank with the max # of tabs and emptied it, emptied your void storage, and emptied your characters bank and bag inv, you still wouldn’t come close to 10,000 stacks. Maybe 2000…

Not sure how you intend to store that many items on the characters that receives them.

I have 2 alts that sit on guild/reagent banks and a few months ago I reorganized the banks and mailed 150+ “emails” with the max # of item attachments.

I also once tried creating an add-on to email guldies about a survey I wanted them to do.

The mails from the guild/reagent bank-reorigination went through fine, but only a limited number are shown in the mail box and you need to delete those before it will show you more. If you’re using a mail add-on you may need to /reload before it shows the next batch. Also, you have 30 days to collect the mail or it’s returned to sender. With AH mail, you lose the item. No idea if it goes back to the seller/buyer but I don’t think it does.

As far as automating, don’t bother trying. Blizz long ago put measures in place to kill mail spam. While you can use an add-on to create an email with text and attachments and send, it won’t allow you to create many mails that way and whatever limit exists is very small. The extra mails will simply fail to send and your attachments will just sit in your bag.

I suspect that there is a limit to the number of emails you can receive.
