Maw/Korthia Mounting Not Account Wide?

So, I recently unlocked maw mounting from the Korthia zone on my main. I am leveling an alt however, and it’s saying I can’t mount in the maw. Is that because I’m doing the Escape the maw? Or do you have to legitimately go and unlock maw mounting on each individual character?

Yes, you can’t do it in the maw escape sequence.

There is a trick to this; you can still use your corridor creeper and the other two maw-born mounts.

Enjoy a faster intro!

So as son as I finish the maw escape, then I can mount when I drop back into the maw?

No.

Mount access in the Maw is a quest reward (for standard mounts, not the few mounts that can be obtained in the Maw/Torghast that allowed you to mount before 9.1), not an achievement reward. Every alt must do the start of the Korthia quest chain (or skip it). Thankfully this can be done the moment you hit level 60 and outside of a few story quests, you have no reason to go to the Maw before then.

I’m not sure if escape the maw prevents mounting, but each character does have to have it registered that “The Eye of the Jailer” has been beaten in order to mount in the Maw.

However when your alt goes to turn in “The Highlord Calls” quest, all you have to do is use the I already know Anduin’s fate skip which lets you immediately start the Korthia intro with “The First Move.” However alts can skip the first three chapters by speaking with Bolvar and telling him that you’ve already heard this tale before.

Thus allowing you to mount in the Maw, quest in Korthia, and build up your renown until level 44 start with “The Last Sigil” chapter of the campaign.

Note: Using these skips will forfeit 900 Soul Ash, 2500 Anima, a 187 ilvl weapon, 10 stygian embers, a death’s advance war chest and all it contains, reputation with Death’s Advance and Ve’nari, and the four levels of renown that would have been generated from playing the first three chapters of the 9.1 campaign.

Thanks for all the information. Really detailed, and the note about all the stuff I’d be sacrificing should I skip it on my alts is incredibly appreciated.

Your welcome.

Nope. Character specific.

Not a trick for those that don’t have the creeper, or the other Maw-born mounts

Don’t have the gear or the dps capabilities to get to floor 8 of twisted corridors.

oh it’s easy for us as hunters (you can actually do floor 8 naked!)

almost all your damage when doing the last boss on TC 8 will be from debuffs you get.

alternatively I think it has an alright drop rate from that rare that drops it, though the quest one takes a fair while (though you only have to do it once) haven’t personalyl bothered with it

gud times:

(btw the boss will literally one shot ur pet at lvl 8 on 176 ilvl :frowning: but the damage from anima powers and you can get a pet bite in here and there cause you can boost it by 300%)

Is this account wide yet? Or do I need to unlock this stupid mount?

Serious question since the devs are morons.

Welp I tried. I got bored out of my mind doing Torghast. Sometimes I wonder why I play this game…

What’s even worse is you have to do 144 floors for something that should just be account wide.

And yes I just triple necroed this thread and I don’t care. This is crap.

The maw intro is skippable for characters level 50 and up if you’ve done it once (if you choose to go in at 48 or 49 I think you can’t skip), and the first few chapters of the Korthia campaign (which enables mounting in the Maw) are also skippable if you’ve done them, so no one who has done all of those things will have to spend much (if any) time in the Maw without the ability to mount unless they choose not to do the skips

The Corridor Creeper is account-wide like most if not all mounts

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5Ohl16wBCo this helps for getting mount access after you do the skips on your alts
