Maw waystone is the Universal S

Clearly the First Ones were elementary school kids.

The infinity symbol? Similar to the “cool S” because… shocker, they’re a similar shape.

Clearly it’s an 8

With the big city being called Oriboros, it’s a clear reference to the City of Heroes Faction “Menders of Ouroboros” and not anything else at all. Yep. No other thing at all. The old symbol from City of Heroes looks kind of like what they were using in Shadowlands, too, as opposed to the traditional circle of the snake eating it’s tail.

Interesting video on it. All that research and it turns out it just came from the First Ones.

Public school lore is so mind-blowing. You wonder how a disease can survive thousands of years, and then you realize that you learned things that someone made up a hundred years ago in a far off part of the country, spread from one child to the next. No adult ever showed me the Super S, it was from other school kids. I doubt those kids learned of the Super S from an adults either, I don’t think I’ve ever drawn that in at least two decades. Like, why are we showing each other this thing?

If I were superstitious, I would look at the “Super S” as the first sort of “seam” in reality. It’s so weird. Religion makes sense to me - people cling to the concept that they’re not shadows and dust and they force that belief on their children because they believe they’re doing them a favor, but the Super S seems like it has no reason to exist and yet it continues to do so. Why? What draws us to it?

It looks cool.

It’s a visually pleasing shape that’s easy to draw.

That’s it.
