Maw quest - Blazing Ingots quest

Beyond that, they fired one of the last blues to be actually quite communicative on the forums, even if it was just updates, during that rather large purge of what honestly felt like CM support.

They can now only be used by players of that Covenant.

Seems to be the new cool thing for Blizzard to do with quests.
Make them first come first server so people will snipe objectives from each other.

Gets harder and harder to believe that they don’t have some time played metric they are trying to increase…

Ugh. I thought it was weird but cool that they weren’t restricted before. Fun detected = fun nerfed.

The forums have literally been like this since the game came out because I was on the forums back then. There were way more CMs and blue posters (I think 4-5) and they were on the forum almost daily posting stuff. With BC and WOTLK you had Ghostcrawler lurking on the forums as well because I used to have forum conversations with him. (I was also one of those snotty toxic people at that time so I guess I’ve grown up since then.)

Blizzard literally doesn’t ban people on the forums. If I was head mod I’d probably be banning people by the truckload.

Oh but they do! Hang out regularly on the Customer Support forum and you’ll see people asking what happened on their second accounts all the time. The fun part is where they try and act coy about not knowing what they did, and then Blues will pop in and help them remember.

Eh, they definitely do for some folks. Remember good old Vanillanoob? He got double banned, on one account and then a second one.

At the end of the day, though, Blizzard’s communication is weaker than their WoW writers. It’s probably the absolute worst aspect of their company, and it’s honestly no wonder the forums have gotten so bad. Yes, people need to police themselves better because their horrible attitudes likely started the fall, but there’s no excuse for how bad Blizzard is at just general communication.

Why did you change it AT ALL in the first place?

What logic was behind it?

The maw is bad enough without intentionally breaking quests to make it worse.

How bout it just works like before you guys broke it???

Please send word to fix the following bugs:

  • Necrotic Strike applying Death’s Due
  • Necrotic Strike working with Convocation of the Dead Conduit
  • Convocation of the Dead Conduit benefits from mobs dying with proportionate amount of Festering Wounds.

Also fix the Maw quest and the Covenant Hearthstones also.

ngl when i saw wowhead article mention blazing ingots my first thought was “did they finally make the last 2 stack with the first 10??”

cos that was the only change that needed to be made to this quest

Probably so!

If I go into the Maw, I rarely venture further than just outside the cave…maybe to the Soul Smith and the Beast Warrens when the Shadehound thing is up.

Just another example. Stop messing with things that don’t need to be fixed.

I see it a product of a circle effect.

  • Forum/Reddit/WoWhead comment sections -> Full of negative comments bashing the game 24/7/356 by a % of players from the game (remember unhappy customers complain the most). The LIKE button literally encourages and gives people psychology rewards to keep doing this.
  • Game Developers -> Don’t want to burn themselves out reading those comments nor acknowledge the outrage mobs.
  • WoW 2005 vs 2021 -> More avenues to post information. The WoW forum used to be the only place, but now there’s Podcasts, Twitter, Reddit, etc.

Blizz just won’t come out and admit that the reason they’re communicating less is because of a small % of players flooding everywhere with negativity.

So remove the like button… start mass banning the trolls. Create a new forums and guidelines that require constructive criticism to be formatted in a manner that is useful for a developer…

I guarantee they’ll start posting more often. Until then… the circle effect continues.

THis whole ingots/animacones thing is really confirming my theory .

If players like it nerf it or break it and if they hate it double down on it.

You’re still making players compete against each other, which fosters a hostile environment between players instead of a cooperative one.

The person who pulls the mobs first WILL NOT get the ingot. They’ll have to wait after the next person comes up and ninjas it.

What’s going to be worse is most likely it will be someone from your own faction that does it to you .

Don’t forget it’s also not group friendly to begin with.
Everyone has to loot their own items. So even if you want to work with others, the game actively prevents it.

Nothing was fixed, this is still absolutely a bad change.
