Mastery states that in voidform we just receive the full benefit of our mastery, regardless of what dots are on the opponent. Jw if this has been tested. Seems like it’s either intentional or just it hasn’t been updated to reflect the different talent choice.
Dark Ascension does not give you full benefit of your mastery like Voidform does.

The only benefit Voidform grants is maximum mastery and Voidbolt. Dark Ascension gives you +25% direct damage.

It also refreshes your Mind Blast charges which comboes well with the Mindbender talent allowing it to AoE attack when you Mind Blast.
So you can…
Mindbender Blast → Blast → Voidform → Blast → Blast as a decent AoE combo while building up to Mind Sear.
Im pretty sure there is a bug where right now you are not getting the damage bonus from Shadowform and Voidform at the same time
You never got the damage increased from Shadowform while in Voidform. Voidform overrides Shadowform. Voidform USED to give 20% increased damage, but they nerfed it.
It’s not a bug - it’s intended. It’s been reported for months and no changes were made despite how obvious it is.
They deliberately reduced the power of Voidform so that it was also laughably weak like Dark Ascension so that they could essentially export that damage to Twins being in the spec at all times.
