Add it back in.
Have a function like a ready-check when you are invited to a raid.
Do you agree to Give The Raid Leader Master Loot Control?
-Yes or No
If you Say No, you are removed from the raid and teleported to the nearest graveyard if you are in the instance.
Once Master Loot is turned on, it remains on until you leave the raid.
If the someone else is made raid leader, the Yes/No check happens again. And much like selecting a role, it has to be checked before you begin.
It gives people the option to master loot. And it gives PuGs protection, as they would have to agree to the Master Looter Terms and Person in control, before starting the raid. It also covers the situation where Raid Lead is transferred to someone else.
Seeing how master looter works in tbc, its a great system to keep your guild together. It awards those who have been there for attendance/loyalty which is something very lacking in today’s wow. In retail wow, players just pug and pop all over and don’t attempt to get to know the people who they raid with. The community is so watered down in retail. I’m all for giving some guild power back to guilds! After all, its your choice to run with a certain guild.
Pugs into a raid listed as “Personal Loot” in the notes… On fill, gets ready-check asking to give ML to raid-lead? Checks no and gets booted.
Yeah, no thanks.
Edit: I’d be fine with them adding ML for a 100% guild run and if any non-guildie joins the raid ML becomes automatically disabled until it goes back to 100% guild.
Ok op, how about to the system it is all PL but if the player says yes to ML the system simply takes their loot and gives it directly to the master looter to give out.
However if someone clicks no, they stay in the raid and whatever PL gives them it gives them.
The guild can deside to swap loot between the two parties or not.
This attitude strikes me as if people want to hold loot hostage in order to keep their group together. That sounds like a horrible ethos for loot. As if the only reason people would raid with you is if you are able to lord loot over them.
It gives the people who are pugs protection. Where the Raid Leader cant just do a pull timer than at 2 Seconds, switch it to Master Loot. A PuG would have to agree and accept that ML would be on. And if the Raid wants to change the rules, anyone who was PuG’d in, would have to agree to them or leave. It would give the people who want Master Loot, Master Loot back. It would also take a step in putting in a safeguard to protect against players abusing Master Loot.
And right now I am only able to PuG raids. So I am one of the PuGs
If the brand new person wants to be enriched too, they stick around instead of bounce around. Makes the raid team more efficient too cuz you learn each others abilities instead of them changing every raid. It’s like a job in real life…do you expect the good benefits on day one or do you stay awhile to get the good company perks?
Its not ONLY to keep the guild together. It awards those who are most deserving cuz attendance and loyalty to your group mean something. It’s like getting more vacation the longer you stick with a company in real life. If you don’t like it, just pug into another group.
You say that if you don’t like it, just pug into another group. But have you considered how unfair that is to the person trying to pug in? There are already enough complaints about how the game is unfair in regards to gear, threatening someone with being kicked for not agreeing to let a random stranger control their loot seems a bit harsh.
The current system was implemented for a reason and alleviated a lot of pain points regarding gear. In my guild, we don’t need master looter to decide if someone else needs a piece more than us. That’s how it should be.
Pugging in retail sucks atm. Cuz after you kill a boss, you gotta remake the darn group every time cuz that pug gets that one piece they want and then dips. Does nothing but hurt majority. I know you don’t think so cuz you one of the pugs…
Either you’re picking the wrong pugs, or your team is unpleasant to raid with. Pugs that are enjoying themselves and contributing to the team tend to stick around.
