Hi y’all. Have a quick question In regards to master assassin in the sin spec. I loved the legendary crit opness for sub in shadowlands but what build benefits from this talent in the assasinatiom spec? I mean…. Dmg is amazing, bleeds are deadly but it takes a sec for that dmg to ramp up. Is there a build or something I dont know about that this talent helps you pump more dmg?
I want to main sin rogue mainly for war mode in DF. Just wondering…. Thank you In advance my degenerate brethren ^^. (You know…. Cause we rogues…. In the dark…. We shank and stab and please blizz don’t ban me…. You made the class not me…. Don’t hate the player, hate your game)
No benefit. Frankly the talent shouldnt be on the tree. The talent is minimally useful for Sn and is not eotth picking up compared to some othr talents. Luckily its location makes it easy to avoid.

Its pretty useless for sin, the first 3 globals of your opener cant crit (garrote, slice, garrote)
You could run a crit based build with ambush, mut and blindside but you may as well play sub at that point.

messed around on beta, more pvp orientated but you can deathmark, vanish, sepsis for the extra 8 % damage on it, envenom, marked for death cold blood envenom. Has its uses but mostly for pvp imo

Why would you burn Vanish on a PvP opener. Especially as Sin rogue.

Wait, what now? Did I miss Vanish buffing something?
Assuming you had full bleeds up to make Deathmark what it is, Vanish isnt helping anything unless you’re playing the MA legendary, not the talent. You’d be way better of replacing Vanish with Shiv to buff Sepsis and the Envenoms while also applying the 40% MS from Hemo.
Even if you were playing the MA leggo, you’d want to get bleeds going, then Deathmark > Mfd > Kidney > Shiv > Sepsis > Vanish for everything to start critting when you’re in stealth.
on beta, not the pre patch, theres a talent in the rogue tree that your abilities from stealth deal 8 % more damage, you definitely throw shiv in there tho

Everything on beta is currently on prepatch.
If youre referring to nightstalker, burning vanish is not worth proccing it in PvP. If you want Nightstalker damage buff you should use Shadow Dance
If they have no trinket, healer is in CC you can absolutely burn vanish for 8 % more damage on sepsis during the deathmark + badge kill window. Shiv is buffing the damage, You’re duplicating all the ticks, and you’re getting increased crit chance from MA.
maybe, if they are really low on health.
The problem with MA is, at best it’s a 30% crit chance + about 20% from your gear, netting 50% crit chance. So, that’s also a 50% chance to not crit. Not really a good use of a Vanish CD and there are better uses for the talent point.

Yah, I’ve used Vanish that way. Sometimes you just want to go for that kill and will bet it all. High risk high reward. 
Hell, as Subtlety, I’ve used Vanish as a gap closer before. That’s one thing I’ve always loved about Rogue. And Subtlety specifically(before we gave all our stuff to the class since this isn’t the case anymore). Most our CDs are versatile and can be used in many ways rather than having 1 use!

on beta, I can do 75k dps on a player with garrote > sepsis > rupture> MFD kidney deathmark+ badge > kingsbane >shiv.
Or alternatively, cheapshot> deathmark> sepsis > kingsbane > vanish garrote > rupture > MFD kidney > into rotation

You need to put in context:
75k vs a level 70 with 219k health and 367 item level. Not really impressive for 6 gcd’s and bowing all your cool downs.

just so you can see what the numbers are. claiming its bad to use vanish for burst is misguided. The spec is called assassination. You can assassinate people using cooldowns like that if it’s going to win you the game.
Only reason the test lasts so long is because he uses trinket + emerald communion and still sometimes dies as soon as his cast is done.

I don’t believe anyone is saying that. Quite the opposite. Vanish is just as much a dps cool down as it is a defensive one.
My main comment to the thread was MA is about useless for Assassination.
I just looked at the image. Wow, is Kingsbane really that strong?

Then my mistake for misinterpreting you. Because I’d 100 % take master assassin if you’re going for the vanish for burst / opener. I feel sin is VERY frontloaded. The talent point isn’t wasted in my mind as you need it to get to Iron Wire as I find exsanguinate very clunky to work with unless as you’re trying to put 10 lb of stuff in a 5 lb bucket
