I have the stutter and tried the remedies here to no avail. It kinda reminds me of back in the day when the garbage collection happened all at once and someone was making tables on an OnUpdate. I’m seeing an increase of about 15 mb for about 3 sec and then a collection of around 6mb for 4 or 5.
Also seeing memory usage jump up and down by about 100 mb every other cycle or so.
Also just did a compare with the Beta - live is running @10 - 15C cooler on my card than the beta. Beta is as smooth as glass.
Pretty sure theres some kind of widespread shader issue that affecting systems because of poor optimization for different hardware. I suspect this is indicated by the bandaid fix they slapped on everyones game to try and fix the stutters and maybe pop in too. Shader cache. Gpu, memory, network.
So yeah absolutely is our hardware… not working with whatever weird failed attempt at a patch blizzard did. So its bad buggy optimization on blizzards end and they can and need to fix this, cause there’s nothing wrong we’re doing with our hardware. Our hardware is just vibing. Or rather it is normally vibing, but wow isn’t feeling the good vibes right now. The state of wow right now is actually a lot like pawgwalker tbh. Poorly optimized to its environment, settings are clearly not working correctly, and basically its not wanting to vibe correctly with anyone’s problems despite every known attempt to get it to do so.
Yeah, I assume they’ll actually fix it, or at least be able to tell everyone “Oh, for some reason it thinks MS Paint is an internet card, go uninstall that” or something. The symptoms are pretty consistent across different people, clearly something is up. I really wonder about retail WoW using up all my disk space, too, I wonder if something’s causing a memory leak somewhere.
A blue really needs to chime in on wtf is going on I really shouldn’t have put another month on my account there’s no way I’m buying DF considering I can barely play any of the content that’s been released in the past month.
We have a product were paying for that is broken and blizzard hasn’t said a word in 2 weeks besides “it’s top priority”… I’m starting to think that’s a line of bull and we’ll be lucky if this problem is fixed in the next couple of months.
Raids, Invasions, Korraks Revenge, any Large scale event in general is absolutely busted and lags like crazy. You literally can’t do anything with more than 10 people around anymore or the game starts to crap itself. Hell you don’t even need that many people around sometimes for things to start to break I’ve been gettin random stutters in 5 MAN CONTENT too. FIX YOUR GAME BLIZZARD THIS IS RIDICULOUS
Seriously, it’s soooo frustrating. I wanted to raid with my friends but… at least it’s on their known issues page, which means… I mean they know. I guess.
I was having the same issues, I was looking at my video settings, for some reason max foreground fps was set at 0, moved that back up to what I wanted, and issue was fixed, I know it may not work for all, but for some it may have been just that simple.
I did this a couple days ago and it reduced the stutter, but did nothing for the memory leak and FPS drops occurring. I’m actually quite pleased some people are finding it fixes their issues however.
Then explain why it’s running perfectly fine on plenty of people’s hardware…? This thread is literally the same 20-30 people echo-chambering over and over again. I’ve shown clips of it running absolutely sutterless on a $500 USD computer with graphics set to 7 and FPS locked to 60… No dips, no stutters, nada… Windows 11 22H2, i3 10100, GTX 1650 526.98 drivers, 16gb of 2666 ram and WoW installed on a SATA3 SSD. An ultra cheap living room PC, originally built for the kids to play Minecraft, having zero problems playing WoW.
Like I’ve said, the only thing that does appear to be different is the loading priority of low priority detail/doodad decorations in the world and only in some zones, but that doesn’t cause any stuttering.
I mean, this issue apparently been submitted to the tech support people enough times to have a spot on their “known issues” page, so we can’t simply be neglected nobodies that no-one cares about and they’ll just tell us to go play something else because we’re not wanted in their shiny new expansion.
Clearly, not everybody is having this problem but it’s only happening for retail WoW for us, and not everybody is a computer science major and can tell what’s wrong with their system to instantly flip a switch and make it work. We’re waiting on people better informed, specifically people who actually work behind the scenes on the specific video game that we are having issues with to give us a response. Claiming that nobody has this problem is not productive.
Did I claim that? No… I’m claiming that those having this issue are a very small minority of players. Probably less than a percent or two of players(I’ve polled hundreds on discord servers and only a few have had stuttering issues post-patch). A lot of people posting here are on beefy hardware and the fact that some, like I’ve personally demonstrated, are on wimpy hardware and have zero stuttering problems, says a lot about where the problem might be. That’s why I’ve been pointing toward OS environment issues. Those could be issues with softwares running, bad overlocking, tweaks made to Windows and the registry, outdated/bad drivers, VPNs and AVs that don’t play well with WoW’s Warden, bad BIOS settings, etc etc. Again, this is in reference to the stuttering and not about the popin draw distance changes.
This is the only game that is having these issues bro. Not even classic has these issues.
I play LOL, FF14, diablo 2 and 3, classic wow, path of exile, OW2, I can go on and on and on.
Let me be perfectly clear. THIS IS THE ONLY GAME WITH STUTTERING ISSUES. ONLY ONE. THIS GAME.
You are just spouting off nonsense at this point. So go ahead and bury your head in the sand while screaming “NANANANANANNANANA I CANT HEAR YOU” all you want. It changes nothing. You are not convincing us so stop trying.
How can this be the only game with these issues out of 10+ games? Explain that for me. Why is WOW the only game with these issues?
I mean this is just sad at this point. Mountains of evidence just being cast aside and ignored…
EDIT Let me try putting this a different way. Lets assume it is my computer okay? Then why is wow the only game effected? Why can I play other games, more graphically demanding games, without a single hitch?
If it was my computer, then why are the other games not effected by this stuttering issue? Shouldn’t all my games be having issues if there was a issue with my setup? The more logical thinking / deductive logic you use the more the picture becomes clear…
I mean, that’s very interesting, correct me if I’m misunderstanding, but you seem to be implying that because it’s a small number of people with similar or varying “personal” errors with WoW that Blizzard is under no pressure to look into it. Even if it’s merely 2% of your discord server that is having this issue, if it’s the exact same symptoms, clearly that must mean they can, at the very least, suggest something besides the usual UI reset when that hasn’t worked? I don’t understand why that’s an issue. I’m not claiming Blizzard is the devil for not solving this issue immediately, but I’m just publicly hoping for an update to a really inconvenient situation. It is definitely annoying that a game bought and paid for is having trouble running on a computer that functionally should be able to play it.
