This is 100% my issue my entire guild is playing classic and we picked out the server i was here 45min before the servers was supose to be up…its now 3:24 am been more then 13 hours now and i have not even been able to log in…so what am i supose to do? Bunch of the guild have altdy gotten on and are lvl 10+ but nope im still waiting …i cant just go to another low pop server this not to mention the fact i had a lvling group planned out that i was supose to be the tank of but now thats all blown out of the water…like i get there is issues at launch but if there is que times like this a day or 2 from now im just gona say to heck with it
“Hey guys, this server is way more of a problem than we thought. Let’s hop on [Lower populated server] instead.”
ez pz
Hasn’t been working that way at all. When half the guiild makes it in and the other half doesn’t, and waiting in queue becomes normalized population imbalances will persist. Full servers will keep queues and new servers will die off.
the queus are not going anywhere, it was 8am on a tuesday this morning and the realm is full - waited 75 minutes so far… imagine this weekend, and its not just faerlina/herod like they thought, every server is queing - cap increase is needed imo - at least while layering is present, i fail to see how this could hurt anything if layers work the way they were explained
Just my thoughts here, but if you’re a tight guild or group of friends, wouldn’t you all agree that moving to a lower pop server is in your best interests? I mean, the people you’ll primarily be playing with are the same people you’re trying to play with now, right?
I guess I don’t see what the deal is with sticking to a specific realm if it’s in everyone’s best interest to move.
Guilds with no members ahead of the pack might reroll, but if even one player is doing well they’re not likely to. Plenty of players are around level 20 by now, and many have made really good gold. Try convincing your level 22 friend with 12G that he should reroll on a new server so you can skip queues…
I get that, but again, if this is a really tight-knit group of people, after a couple of hours of waiting, shouldn’t a lower pop server have been considered?
Maybe at this point it is too late, but the only alternative now is to wait. Hopefully the servers balance out after a couple of weeks.
Increase caps, change stance on layering until it absolutely can be turned off with 0 queues. Enable cross realm grouping until transfers are allowed.
But #Nochange.
Yup, our guild has already decided this is the only way we will be moving, to be fair to everyone. We took the free illidan > stonemaul xfers back in vanilla.
Oh, cool. So let’s just make it retail-classic then…
Maybe they can add an LFG and LFR tool too, you know, to help people who don’t want to have to wait around for a group/raid.
Also, I think it’d be great if they just add flying mounts immediately. And change the talents - there’s far too many and it’s hard to decide what to do.
Sarcasm aside, this is par for the course with Blizzard. In 15 years, this is exactly how it’s been and what you can expect from them. Welcome to World of Warcraft.
You want small server sizes while refusing to move…then you get large queues. You hate all modern solutions of solving the problems as “dumbing down the game”, so you get large queues.
Those are just the facts of life. For some reason people are so scared of layers ruining their community…well your community is sitting in queue all night. Much better!!!
So, with OCE they gave us one PVP server before launch. Made us all reserve characters on one server with no options to move. Guilds planned on there being one server. Launch day happened and some people could get on and others couldnt. guildies started leveling assuming others would catch up and the issues would be temporary - but they werent.
Blizzard onyl then releases one other server hours and hours later. Only option is to move there without your friends.
What would you do? Ostracise yourself?
Maybe you’re confused, but I’m all for people moving. I moved myself, having reserved names during the naming event on a different server, only to end up on Westfall.
I actually had a blast on Westfall and think I’ll stay.
My argument was for the OP who was upset they couldn’t play with their friends, and another poster who said someone had already earned 12 whole gold and now wouldn’t be able to change realms.
I don’t agree with some of the so called ‘QOL’ improvements, or ‘modern solutions’ they made and actually quit WoW after Cata because it wasn’t even close to the same game anymore.
I guess my question to you is this: what inside information do you have to confirm that this isn’t temporary?
Blizzard is predicting a population drop-off after a week or two. Also, it’s launch day - Of course there’s going to be a queue…
im not attempting to downplay the issue, but it is day one. You can still catch up. In two or three weeks your guildies are going to take a day or 5 off. Things will equalise. Im fairly confident you’ll all hit 60 around the same time (assuming you arent hardcore racing for server first).
The 6 hours of queue I have sat through today and knowing that 1000’s of people on OCE are in the same boat as me and sat through 10hr queues.
So your solution is that if I want to play with my friends I wait a week? I havent even been able to login at all and they are all in their 20’s. My plan was to be a pocket healer for my friend and now i’ll be solo leveling a holy priest… guess what, thats not the ‘nostalgia’ I signed up for.
yawn position 1291, i am getting there.
all excitement of login tonight has all but gone.
That’s not really inside information. That’s just an observed result of launch day.
Sorry you didn’t get to play with your friend. Maybe they can reroll once you’re able to get in.
buuut… honestly this whole friends thing seems overplayed. My friends would have happily changed servers if they felt theyd be in the same situation for the next week. And if they wouldnt (they would though, just saying), theyd happily boost me by the time i hit their server. This is day 1. It might even be week 1. But in a month or two it’ll be nothing more than a memory.
Try and consider just how important it is that blizzard remove layering from the game whilst not splitting the core playerbase over an issue that will guaranteed resolve itself in a week or two.
No sh*t… it was a common occurance - yet you seem to think my experience was unique for OCE.
Yeah sure. I bet you got to play today
