Massive army of botting gnome death knights?

My wife and I were leveling through Hellfire with warmode off on our alliance characters this morning and we noticed a TON of blood gnome death knights with randomly generated names traveling in groups. They’re all from either the same two guilds- HUOji or HUODD, at least these are the ones we saw- and it’s pretty clear they’re botting.
Has anyone else noticed this? It’s been a while since I’ve leveled without warmode on here, so I have no idea if this is a decent thing or not! I’ve reported them for botting, I’m just amazed at this. Even doing a /who HUO, there were over 50 of them online at once.

I personally haven’t seen this but I know the situation has really gotten out of control. I’m really not sure how to address it at this point. I definitely think there’s been a spike due to long neck boi going away in SL (absolutely ridiculous call by Blizz imo), but it’s still going to be an issue after the fact. Even with massive ban waves, it seems like they always come back.

Make sure you screenshot that and send the image to hacks@blizzard.com. There has been a significant pushback on the bot accounts, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. Botting has severely impacted the “farming industry” of WoW, and WrA’s economy is about to take a hit. Botters try to infiltrate the highest and lowest population realms for the most lucrative gold deals. Any further proof, i.e. catching them outside dungeons, or conglomerating at hotspots. Don’t ever STOP reporting! This is very important.

I definitely did this! I’ve been right-click reporting ingame, too, but honestly copy/pasting the same message into each report might flag me or something, idk. They’ve really got the first half of questing in Hellfire Peninsula absolutely flooded right now.

yep this has been a thing for a couple of months at the least

wra’s been seeing a botting spike.

I did just this as well and never heard anything back.

They do have it mentioned on the page with that email listed that because of how many reports they get, they probably will not respond back on an individual basis- the best you can do is send as many screenshots and videos as possible, and keep sending them in.

I’ll also say this: watching a group of botters automatically path right under the fel reaver and get squashed one at a time? Priceless.

That is correct. Due to privacy laws, and the extremely high potential that the bots are international holders, (as in most cases, it’s not a joke for no reason) they are unable to give any information and are not required to give acknowledgement. Although many people dislike him, a certain unhygienic big name streamer who has ‘gold’ in his name, really spotlighted the most heinous cases and had his followers help ban almost 70k (or more) accounts just a few months ago. That is quite substantial, when you account for how many botters sub at any given time. Perhaps it is cheesy, but it’s a matter of principle. Doing the right thing even when there isn’t any form of validation. Please - if you see cases of this, do not stop reporting.

If anything, by reporting behavior, you are able to assist engineers by giving examples for their Warden system. Warden is their anti-bot anti-cheat, that is almost assuredly, probably going to advance to some type of AI, not just “o this guy has 100 reports time to silence and ban”, given the extreme increase in security details on platforms all-round.

It was mentioned a few times about lockpicking alts in Stormwind, and this made me realize I hadn’t seen any in a few weeks (I was on the brutosaur grind and that was my favorite AH to use, so I was there lots).

It turns out, they’ve moved their lockpicking bots over to the bank in Darnassus. Clever! I wouldn’t have thought to look for them there, but a /who rogue [guild] found them there.

Noticed them too.

I swear, gold farming right now for me has been just trying to find what these guys haven’t been hitting and just going after that, and then hoping they don’t notice.

Economy’s already taken a hit. There’s a few markets I like to play with that have taken a noticeable nosedive over the last two months, and it really doesn’t feel like the brutosaur race caused it for some of these things.

Nothing beats the 30 Dreani DK’s coming to pvp and wipe you instantly.
