Silenced for making inappropriate comments

I guess you aren’t allowed to tell people to report afkers because all the afk sympathizers will report you for spam. My chat log will show i didn’t spam not one of the many games i played today, didn’t abuse any chat, and did not have any inappropriate communication as i would just ignore people who did not like me calling out who was AFK. It’s sad that i’m supposed to sit there and play a game and lose because 5-10 people decide they get to farm harpies every game/afk in starting cave while we try to win. How am i supposed to get this false suspension reversed? I did not do anything and made sure of it.

If you feel someone is violating the rules, please do report them.

Mass reports are not a thing.

Asking others to report can get ya in trouble.

Just report and move on.

Asking others to report afk players can get you in trouble? So stating that someone who is sitting in a cave is afk can get you suspended? What?

That may not be what got ya popped.

Perhaps a Blue will come along and provide some insight into exactly why the hammer fell on ya.

It may not have been recent.

Edit: But no Blues will be in until tomorrow.

Others will come along and tell ya what I just did.

I should also mention that you should appeal your suspension.

Do appeal.

Good luck.

thanks I did submit an appeal, all i can do is wait.

No, they’re not.

No, they have not because it’s not a thing.

A certain streamer tried to prove such. All he proved was how much of an idiot and what extent they will go to get likes on their stream. He asked viewers to report him in-game, and claimed he was silenced. He wasn’t.

He was squelched PENDING review by the GM’s. HE claimed otherwise but screen grabs of one of his monitors clearly showing “SQUELCHED”.

He was also penalised soon after for inciting his viewers to abuse the reporting system.

That is the ONLY automated part reporting. X number of chat reports = a squelch. It is then reviewed by a GM and either overturned or a penalty applied ie, “A silence for X duration” after investigation of the chat infraction and past history on the account.

Don’t know how many times this needs to be repeated - but there is no such thing as mass reporting. This is a made up buzzword that’s become very convenient as an excuse.

It only takes ONE report for a GM to investigate.

Funny thing is, even if it was one report, or a few against you - if you broke the rules, you’ll get a penalty regardless when it’s investigated.

The number of reports of an incident has no bearing on the penalty invoked by Blizzard.

All it takes is one report, that’s it. The timing of receiving a suspension notice is not relevant as it could have been any time in a few weeks or even months ago that the offence happened.

Relevant post to actually prove you wrong.

I love how so many replies come for mass report yet not for my issue, thanks for showing me the real community.

Lorethon already advised you what to do. And you already commented that you did submit an appeal.

All you can do is wait now.

Because you have already been told on where to go. Let me quote it right here:

It would be better to avoid trolling the forums actually, especially here on Customer Support where it is more heavily moderated than every other part of the forum.

It’s true that posts that contain false info do tens to get flagged here.

The whole mass flag thing has been proven false over and over again.

If you feel your account action was unwarranted, you put in an appeal ticket. Yes, it’s possible that a blue will pop in and let you know something more specific, but it’s not guaranteed.

No - however, making inappropriate comments about feminine hygiene products or parties hosted by particular music personalities can get you in trouble.

The term “mass report” would imply that you were reported by a lot of people, which is true. However, that does not mean the reports against your in-game communications were invalid.

We’ve received numerous reports of inappropriate chat across several days. There does not appear to have been any targeting of you, or collusion involved to get you into trouble.
